I can tell you from first hand experience that the osu! community is full of complete and utter toxic degenerates and also nonces.
One of the biggest mistakes I've ever made was hanging out with a bunch of osu! faggots years ago and I fucking regret it took me so long to realize that I should've never joined their retarded clique.

Think making an unusable clusterfuck of a Discord server with a metric fuckton of useless bots, posting anime gore, joking about child porn and acting like completely insufferable deranged antisocial retards 95% of the time while only being a decent company the other 5% of the time.
I'd imagine that's how every osu! clique looks like and I'd stay the fuck away from this cesspool of a community. I was hanging out with them coincidentally because one guy I've met online invited me to it and I was too stupid back then to realize what I was signing up for.
Idk man I know like 3 guys IRL (4 counting me) from my circle of friends who play OSU and they're all just chill, run-of-the-mill individuals.
Of course you're gonna run into degenerates if you join a rando discord server but I posit that it's actually discord that attracts mentally unwell people not the particular videogame community you joined a server in.
Also the game is genuinely fun and well polished. I still have the starterpack songs from the 201...8? whatever edition of the game.
Ok, I know you guys have your horror stories about the community, and I've been given an idea for a community watch thread. If you have any personal tales to tell or any footnotes from the community you'd think would be interesting, shoot me a message! Until then, please try to keep discussion in here about the game itself and not the freaks who surround it.
Now that that's out of the way, how do you guys like to play? I've always been very good at aim and farm type maps but after a recent break I've been seeing a lot more potential in my 180 bpm streaming ability and have been playing a lot more speed or finger control.
Osu! is still alive today? I surely don't miss the days I nearly broke my mouse and keyboard because of that damn game. An okay source for music recommendations from Beatmaps pack. At least from my experience.

fun game but the playerbase takes it way too seriously (which plagues most rhythm games) and mappers care more about clout than making a fun or experimental chart. tbh ur better off just enjoying the game in isolation. possibly without even making an account.
Very true, but fortunately they are very easy to not bump into. Just don't join any community servers, read the forums or even the beatmap discussions, and you should have a pretty normal animeshit experience.
