I am honestly a little scared by all the university mass murders going on (although probably statistically I shouldn't be)

Meet Adacia Avery Chambers:

At 10:31 am, Ms Chambers drove her 2014 Hyundai Elantra into an unmanned police motorcycle. She then careened into the crowd of spectators, killing 3 and injuring 34 others (8 of those are critically injured).

wow

While it doesn't seem to have been intentional, that has to be some sort of record for injuries caused by a single drunk driver.

Edit:

That does look a lot like the mugshot...

4 dead including a 2-year old. Over 40 injured.

Ah, I hope the death toll doesn't rise more. Have you seen the pictures of the vehicle?

This story is getting pretty weird. Witnesses who saw Adacia before she tarded out and ran her car through a parade said she didn't seem drunk at all and was walking perfectly normal, but seemed to have been crying about something. Presumably she was crying because she had just been fired from her job.

That's interesting.... it seems like stories about what happened to her are all over the place. In one, its said that she was partying the night before but was home by 10pm, in others its said she was working till 12am....and in others its said that she showed up to work "on drugs":

"The driver of the car that crashed into a crowd of spectators and killed four people Saturday at Oklahoma State University’s homecoming parade was sent home from her job at a local burger joint on Saturday morning because her supervisors “thought she was on drugs,” one of the woman’s co-workers told Heavy."

IRL Carmageddon by the sounds of it.

Gj ruining so many peoples lives in one go. If the police don't throw the book at her, the civil suits will haunt her finances for the rest of her life.

Thanks for the link. She was not drunk at the time. But, can it really be said she did it on purpose? Perhaps she did. But I didn't really see anything as of yet to indicate this was planned. I get what you mean by "on purpose". But, let's just say she was an elderly driver who had a heart attack. That wouldn't be considered on purpose.

My point being, she is obviously mentally deficient in some way. If she did it on purpose, then of course she deserves to bake slowly. BUT, if she had a psychotic episode that messed with her mind and she didn't realize what she was doing at that time. Think of a vietnam vet as an example. He is licensed to carry. But suddenly in a crowd a noise scares him, or something he sees puts him in a state, gives him a flashback. All he sees are gooks (not choy) around him with guns. He opens fire thinking he is about to be captured.

I guess my point is we now know she wasn't legally drunk. But I don't know if she just wanted to kill people or had some mental delusion or wanted to kill herself and take people with her etc.

I know its semantics to some degree, she was in control of the car etc. but what the fuck was she thinking to do something so depraved? Answers would be appreciated, further speculation welcome!

With or without purpose or intent, even if it was some psychotic break, she has proven herself to be an unsafe element in our Society so she must be removed.

That's kind of the difference between Murder 1 and Murder 2. Murder 1 has preplanning and definite intent, murder 2 is kind of taking an opportunity. Any legal scholars feel free to correct me on this.

I think a person just losing control of a vehicle is only able to be charged with manslaughter.
