I say we make a thread for him in the lolcow board, and keep it public. People can choose to post there where he can see it, or on the sub where he can't. Also this way it looks like he lost the special treatment of having a secret sub. In his mind he'd go from the "scary evil trans we only talk about in secret", to just another lolcow.

My calculus says he's going to sperg on that date plenty even if the forum is private still or not though and this is trying to get content out of him that wouldn't be posted otherwise with the privacy filter still engaged. But that's not an incorrect answer either and it is a month sooner . . .

Maybe make it public on DRD next month to test the waters, see if it gets anything lulzy to surface, then hide it again until his birthday where it will be publiclly opened indefinitely going forward in 2017? Phil's tougher to figure out than OPL to me and without knowing details of how close to getting his ass tossed from his apartment he is, it's tough to guess which is the best course of action but I do think a public open forum is the right idea in the near term.

The thing is, that's not what making the subforum private does. Phil can already see here, he has a sock that got somehow approved because he constantly mentions specific things.

No, the main objective to that was so Phil couldn't just link a page from here onto his FB and have his asspatters view it to confirm what he said. So without really being able to prove that KF was talking about him, in Phil's mind we are effectively gas-lighting him. This could be one reason why his asspatter count has been on a downward spiral.

And for that reason, I changed my initial "yes" vote to "no". Like others have said I think Phil is starving for attention. Phil knows we are talking about him (which he likes) but he can't easily prove it by linking to us on his FB (which he hates). Effectively only he knows about us which is what frustrates him. I think keeping this up will lead to further chimping at his real life situations and less at us. That is why he hasn't been as entertaining, he lost his go-to boogeyman for easy asspats and now has to rely on real life to crush his spirit little by little.
 
I find it amusing that the poll is in favor of making the forum public, but discussion is screeching autisicaly against it. Are we somehow reenacting the 2016 vote?

That's fine. If someone warns him and he lurks around desperately hoping to see it, it's funny whether we open it or not. Either way he spazzes out completely.

Also, why not wait until he's in the middle of some major crisis to do it, like Troon leaves or he gets evicted?

Voted no. I could as the logic behind it, reopen it to give Phil a chance to flip out only to find all his asspatters have abandoned him but it is basically an organized trolling plan. Sooner or later he will lose his housing and we will know when that happens.

Now we've finally got a cockroach lying on its back, weakly flailing its segmented legs, and people are proposing we flip it back over and serve it a nice hot helping of Attention Cordon Bleu?
 
I posted already that I'm in favor of opening it for a bit, but just thought of another idea. Right now the forum isn't viewable at all to non-members, don't remember if that's the case for members without access since it's been so long since I haven't had access. Is there any way to make it show up in the forum listing for lurkers but still have its actual contents be inaccessible? Would give Phil a nice reminder of what's just out of reach without actually giving him access...
 
The gut vote is yes, but the smart thing to do is continue to watch and wait. Right now the farm is a bogeyman to Phil, an opponent he can't see or hear or touch. Opening up the forum to him wont pull him up to our level but just drop us down collectively to his. (Not in the traditional sense of being on someone's level as Phil apparently has no rock bottom)

At the very most a monthly opening for him to peek in could l, in theory, be interesting if it was done regularly for a few months. He'd have a day to sperg and panic about each month, do his thing here, grant everyone many keks, and be gone the next day. Keep this up for a few months and then not grant him access for his day. Tell me that wouldn't be a good freakout, ripping away an entitlement from him.
 
I voted yes, but I would suggest not yet. If he's building up to something, I'd like to let that happen first.

If we were to go public, my suggestions would be:
1. Short, random periods of public access, perhaps with a fake warning that there seems to be a problem with the site and sometimes it might be possible for people without access to see the site.
2. Limit the discussion to a public thread in the Rat Kings forum, which discusses Phil fairly openly, but hints that there is much juicier stuff in the private subforum.
3. Make it public and the moment Phil inevitably makes a smug post about it, make it private and thank Phil for bringing the problem to the mods' attention.

In the past, Phil was known to screencap the forum and post it to his FB. I don't see why he wouldn't do that now if he still had access.

Since yes is winning, I nominate this as the particular method to fuck this radio silence up.
 
1. make the board public
2. @Null posts a thread saying a thread featuring critical new info on phil will be posted later in the week
3. the day before said info is supposed to be posted make the board private again
4. bouncing and squeaking for days

We can't just make the forum public because that risks exposing kiwi socks. We can make carefully selected (or manufactured) threads public briefly, though, without that risk. A Daddy Rape Day thread would be the obvious choice. Obviously those with socks on Phil's FB will know not to post any content in the thread which could expose their socks.
