I assume you could move it out into the Lolcows forum and then move it back. It might break internal links inside the thread to other posts in the thread made during that time, but this doesn't seem like much of a problem.
 
What if we opened a fake board where all the posts are positive instead of critical of Phil. Like, instead of us calling him Phil or any of the myriad of other names we have, calling him Izzy and using female pronouns, saying how brave and inspiring "she" is, things of that nature? Totally the opposite of what we really say about him. I mean, yeah, he's gonna know we have a closed forum about him and that we're not being honest when we say nice things about him, but it would still be interesting to see how he reacts to nice things being said about him from his "enemies".
 
No way bro we're on the cusp of uncharted territory here! We're going to be seeing hypothetical chimp outs that could see anything happen as Phil drives away the last of his ass patters
 
I vote NO,

He's desperate for attention from any quarter right now he's never been this starved or had problems he simply can't run away from, Things are starting to come to a head in his life and he's really looking for anything to destress with and getting a sudden surge in asspats will stop that from happening.

We are just approaching the simer before the boilover, and when that boilover happens it will be glorious and it's close to happening.

Perfect time to do it.
1. He's already drawing complaints from neighbors. Seeing all of this could escalate his insanity.
2. We always cause him to become obsessed with weapons, even more than usual. This would drain his tard bucks and continue to make him look batshit crazy.
3. He is feeling incredibly alone. If having access to this board again gives him asspats, it shows that the farms basically controls his social life.

I say make it open and splash the anniversary on the front page. Have fireworks, "God Bless America" playing, and a bald eagle in the corner holding a picture of Phil dressed as a commie and the bald eagle crushing Phil with his talons.
 
Could we open it up and allow new topic but hide or move all the old stuff. Firstly because it looks like we're doing it because we don't get a shit and secondly because if we leave stuff there its going to make spotting who's leaker his facebook stuff easy?
 
I vote no.

First because this will inevitably attract w33ns and low-effort shitposters, as well as the aforementioned ass-patters.

Second because I'd rather wait for the coming implosion. We don't know what's going to happen but maybe, just maybe, Phil being attention-starved is going to lead to something great, or at the very least something new.

Third because I don't believe giving him back his favorite crutch to lean on would make him any less boring. His fb posts about him keeping weapons at the ready in case of a Kiwi invasion were funny at first but after a while it's always the same shit. I like the "YOU'RE ALL TREATING ME LIKE SHIT" Phil better.
 
I don't know if it's because the board went private or not but I have to admit that my interest and enjoyment in Phil dropped shortly after the change. There's no doubt in my mind that he's been boring recently, I'm just not sure if that's anything to do with the privatisation or not.

With that said, one of the original reasons we made it private to begin with, was in response to Phil using it to weed out Facebook friends who were leaking his content. Now he's barely producing any content anyway I don't think that's a factor any longer.

I'd say give it a try for a week or two and see what happens. If it feels like we've made a horrible mistake we can always revert back.

Edit- another problem was that in letting everyone post with no screening, we were getting an awful lot of terrible posting. This time, with Rav and Smutley as mods, at least this sub will always have someone around to monitor it.
 
I think we need to not just open up again like last time. Control what he sees and we could maybe make him active again while also not getting asspatter funding.
 
Can it be set so only registered users can view it, no lurkers
Would make it easy to spot Phil if he sets a new account

I agree with the "open it for a short period of time" option. It would be interesting to see just how often he lurks and how long it takes for him to start reeeeing.
Could also be a test. If the asspatters come straight back out of the woodwork to love him again, we'll know it's a bad idea.
 
I say we keep it private. Phil is now being forced to stare into the abyss and he's being drawn down that rabbit hole of madness. The slow and utter realization of how alone and fucked up he is will most likely provide us with something new and exciting. We are practically forcing the piggy outta his comfort zone and into reality, even if it's baby steps.
