The concept of copyright and intellectual property was always meant to protect the interests of big conglomerates and not the little guy, and for decades it's been a weapon of big corporations such as Disney, who lobbied to extend it so far that corporations can keep exclusivity on ideas for generations, essentially stifling development of humanity as a whole in the name of profit. After all, to actually invoke copyright, you need to get into lawfare, where people with most money win.

Copyright and intellectual property have to be abolished.

Don't know if it was posted here already, but a guy just vibecoded Adobe's apps for Linux in Rust through Claude, it's called Storytold. It includes:
Filmcraft - Premiere Pro
Photocraft - Photoshop
Effectcraft - After Effects
Vectorcraft - Illustrator
Lightcraft - Lightroom
Printcraft - Acrobat Pro
Designcraft - InDesign
Just to be clear, these projects are partial open-source Rust reimplementations of Adobe apps (built rapidly with AI agents), not complete recreations; their READMEs & roadmaps document are many missing features & have features still in development.

The dev has said he wants to target Microsoft Office next & already has made 3 of them:
Wordcraft - Word
Gridcraft - Excel
Deckcraft - PowerPoint

He even made an Avid Pro Tools one called Soundcraft.

I think that's like, the third AI written Photoshop version I've seen this week alone. It'll never not be endlessly funny how the GIMP people fearlessly stood their ground against a nicer UI and user's wishes. That these AI versions of photoshop exist at this number makes it very clear that there's obviously a big need. This is what I meant in my earlier post about the (for me, much welcome) decentralization and democratization of FOSS.

He even made
Claude. But the whole thing is so funny tbh. It's probable that these things won't really go anywhere compared to the establish proprietary options but it's good to see large corpos getting the middle finger.

I saw the photopea developer got the same treatment which was a little sad because that's a one man show and it's his living but heyo, that's life now I guess.

I've seen people shill for Adobe against this in their anti-AI faggotry, but the sheer disdain for Kikedobe has even overtaken the luddites to the point of total retard infighting so badly that the anti-AI bubble might burst before the AI bubble burst may potentially ever happen.

If there's one corpo who deserves it the most Goydobe, followed by Microsoft.

Shilling for Adobe should result in a ban from all technology for 10-25 years. After which the thought-criminal needs to rent access to each technology he wishes to access individually on an hourly basis.

Also, the amount of new projects that one would consider anti-corpo that are 100% AI powered is really funny in general.
You can run Nvidias DLSS framegen on older cards that dont support it by default and DLSS5 NR (brand new fancy feature) on AMD cards that absolutely do not support that out of the box.
All powered by AI running on Nvidia datacenter GPUs.
And dont even get me started on the source-ports of various games that have also popped up left and right in the last few months.

I think even the corpo guys themselves vastly underestimate what can be done by a dedicated autist or two with a clanker slave to do the heavy lifting.
The entire idea of "Nobody would ever do X because that would take a skilled team of programmers months/years to accomplish" is outdated at this point. All it takes now is one crazy guy with tokens to burn and an axe to grind.

LLM weights also don't store any code, copyrighted or otherwise. The argument already falls apart at that point. They were definitively trained on code, but so where you if you program
The thing is that the training itself constitutes copying. So there's a technical hook there and I think we'll keep seeing lawsuits. Under your rubric, this lawsuit between westlaw and an AI startup competitor who had trained on WL notes. The court came out the other way as you. https://law.justia.com/cases/federal/appellate-courts/ca3/25-2153/25-2153-2026-09-30.html they probably got it wrong, but the fact that it was a direct competitor drove the courts reaction. I think if they had done the clean room two-step and scrambled the headlines and then fed in synthetic data, they would have won. Ideally congress would step and create a coherent set of IP rules so models can get some protection but lol at that ever happening again.

See this is what me and Cherenkovblue (pbuh) were getting at - the GPL and the existence of GIMP has failed to curb these assholes, we need better laws on autorenew and subscription cancellation. Part of the reason GIMP hasn't provided a meaningful alternative to adobe is bc devs are hostile to users and allergic to modern design principles, which is classic autism by the "respect muh user freedom" people, they are usually just overly fussy about having whatever UI they imprinted on as a 14 year old.

What a sad state software discussion boards are in right now, can't go two steps without someone loudly proclaiming "MMMMMM I LOVE BOT CUM IF YOU DON'T LOVE BOT CUM YOU ARE LE RETARDED LUDDITE MMMMM YUM YUM BOT CUM I AM REAL PROGRAMMER EAT BOT CUM PROMPT MMMMMM CUMMY CUMMY"

It's better than hoping the linux community makes a functional photoshop alternative one day (they won't because they're busy jerking off to their bash scripts and having broken UI everywhere)

The best bits are the ones that go like this:
I asked [insert slop bot] to help me with [insert a problem that you can find a solution for by simply web searching for it], but nothing worked. I demand an actual human being help me out for free, and make sure you don't shit talk me for using slop.

Don't worry, they meticulously verify all output, just like they pay for everything they pirate.

There are some things about this project I do not like, why do they have an ai video/song generation section of the website?

I'll just wait for this project to develop a bit more before I decide to commit to using any of the software it offers.

This is so fucking cool. This really excites me when it comes to AI stuff. One can only dream that someone will create a CAD program so you don't get raped by 30'000$+ in license fees if you want to use it professionally.

I have no clue when it comes to programming, but I mad a fully functioning (and simple) budgeting app to keep my weekly expenses in check. It actually works and is a real app. No adds, no internet connectivity. I even added a widget, showing me how much money I have left for the week. It's a fully fledged apk, not just html. It's so fucking cool.

AI is getting distressingly good at things. At this rate human-made products will be an artisan craft in my lifetime and I'm not sure I'm ready for that.

Because there's a company behind this and that's their product. https://storyteller.ai/about

I wouldn't get too excited about all this because the authors won't have a long term vision and are likely expecting to receive a C&D shortly from Adobe anyway. The plan is to just get their brand in front of eyeballs and organically improve their SEO with all the links and discussion related to their site. Creating a slop Creative Suite clone is just a clever means to bait people into paying attention.

Slop clones of universally hated programs are going to be a real fad for the next few months and will eventually burn out because people will stop paying attention to the low effort garbage with no clear future. There's only so many times you can get baited by "the next Photoshop".
