he's blackout often enough to know, somewhere in his lizard headmeat, that he is essentially helpless when he's that drunk.

the shit stains that cling to his underside know this too, so they pull back and let brian go to town. then they have a victim to torture for content that literally cannot even comprehend what's going on, let alone fight back. that RV video somebody posted a couple pages ago is a prime example. he's getting cucked by a 60 iq pudgy mutant and everyone is explicitly mocking him to his face, all he can do is mumble 'lets go home dude'.

if blade wasn't a humongous asshole, it'd almost be pitiable. he *is* a humongous asshole though, so it's mostly just funny.

Is he actually smart enough to anticipate that and be afraid of it in the first place? He fell for it twice, after all. Most creatures with at least passing sapience would have figured out the pattern after just one encounter.

Does not matter if drunk or sober. The toes rotting is progressive. The speed at which it progresses is ultimately up to him but amputation is 100% certain. This doesn't go away for diabetics, even if you control the disease. The time to do that was awhile ago

Too little, too late. People speculated that he never stopped drinking because he didn't lose weight, but he could simply replace the calories with food, eating from boredom. I wonder, had he really applied himself, losing weight, eating healthy, and of course management with drugs was necessary, when was the last time he could save his toes?

RV6 at the latest I'd say, but that's just a random guess. If I remember correctly he was at least somewhat able to move around, like there's a clip of him talking to someone and he's quite animated, like jumping/kneeling as he speaks to add dramatic effect.

Imagining blade jumping or kneeling now is just hilarious, dude probably can't even get up stairs. He legitimately might need life alert now

Before he started getting open leg sores.
We now know that the Beetus is outright reversible, even curable depending on youth and a number of other factors but with him spiraling out of control and just wanting to drink until he dies there is zero chance of being able to exert the necessary self control to have mastered his own body let alone his drinking problem. You can fix your pancreas but you cant fix late stage nerve damage.
