I was expecting the obvious "the record doesn't exist because you have to make it" twist, but I feel Chris's frustration over the fact that Alex didn't even read the record sleeve that he's obsessing over. I guess that's part of the absurdist humor the game is going for...

https://youtube.com/watch?v=q0GHn6o7bgwChris gets absolutely miffed at Alex YIIK
It was everything I’d hoped for.

Probably would have been more effective it you hadn’t had to spend all that time and energy on nothing. All those long dialogues and that dungeon and everything…literally for nothing.

You don't get it, learning about some fagola jerking off in the mountains is vital to the story
Then it gets thrown out the window alongside every other plotline that isn't the main one

You know, in one of those long essay videos breaking down YiiK, the creator creates a theory that the ones who made this game actively hate gaming/gaming culture/RPGs/ect, and essentially set out to intentionally infuriate the player, because “fuck you”.

And it’s hard to to see that as a viable idea with stuff like this.

Sounds like the guy wants to be the Rian Johnson of indie games.

If you still got the link please share with the class, I was thinking you're referring to running shine's review but he didn't dive into that aspect that much

It’s a long watch, but I really recommend it.

If you just want to hear the theories, it’s in that last half.

I'm surprised Chris's patience has held out as long as it has with YIIK. I wonder if the boys'll be able to make it to the end?
I've only ever seen reviews of it so I don't know how much they have left to go. But now that they've almost got the full party they must be roughly 1/2 or 2/3rds of the way through by now, right?

In another video they mentioned that they finished "that other game" and a picture of Alex Yiik game up on screen so I guess they must have,

Chris not knowing anything about the Magic School Bus seems so weird. It feels like the kind of cartoon they would've referenced dozens of times in the DD/Julian era.

The magic School bus cartoon was broadcasted in the Americas only, so it makes sense why Chris has no idea what the magic School bus was about

It was re-broadcast during the noughties on other TV channels in Europe though, though they aren't well known and he may have been too old for the show at the time, so it still makes sense why Chris wouldn't have known.
