this lets play is the first time in my life i've given genuine critical thought to Last of Us, and i genuinely liked PARTS of the game i've seen so far. The environments, way they design the environment to lead the player naturally (through what's obviously very basic normie tier corridor styled map layouts so it's kinda hard to get confused unless you're a sped) and BITS of the story seem inoffensive. But on the whole it's very much just patient zero for what would become the norm of wokeslop where all the women are go-getters-git-it-done types and the men are weak/retarded. I could grow to like Joel but they very clearly don't WANT you to (which is probably why he dies and gets raped by a pack of feral niggers in the 2nd game im assuming) so it's like, i COULD like this game in spades but it almost doesn't want to be liked with the obvious negatives.
All that to say videogames are quite the difficult hobby to like after 2006 lmao (and everyone giving Chris shit in his comments for over a decade now about being a negative nancy that hates games for the sake of hating them can also get raped by a pack of feral clicker niggers because he's right to be jaded)
I'm a gay sucker simp for post-apocalypse and father/surrogate daughter stories (I must be a fag or something) and I thoroughly enjoyed Last of Us, for as much of a boring baby's first narrative shooter experience it was. The DLC and sequel however were hot trannyloving garbage because Neil Druckman was allowed to spread his pussy juices all over the script without any pushback
My schizo theory is that the brickface in LoU2 (I forgot that thing's fucking name and I don't care enough to look it up) was originally a tranny in the script, and it either focus tested abysmally or the suits told Druckman that trannies aren't allowed because they still need to make money. It's so obvious that thing was intended to be a MtF troon and they just called it female without changing anything, Fucking thing was built like an NFL linebacker

I don't think this is the case purely because they wouldn't depict a troon with the exaggerated male proportions you see on most real troons, as that would be transphobic. Cuckman would know this and know he'd be harassed if he did it, as he would be the one harassing anyone else who did that. Taking a vat grown supersoldier and calling it a woman, however, is as anti-"male gaze" as you can get short of also making it obese, which I guess was where he drew the line since apocalypse survival and all.

The video is far less important than reading the comments, honestly. I like to see a general spread of opinions on stuff like this and watching the vapid video is unnecessary for that. Her name was Abby lol, and considering Neil's self-insert famously rails the linebacker from behind in-game that's certainly possible, but I'm leaning more towards the idea that they originally envisioned the character as a dude with a bruiser fighting-style and build to contrast with the more spindly Ellie, but then they had a progressive-gasm and decided to flip it to a woman without changing anything to accomodate for that character- or lore-wise so now you have a chick eating enough for 3 people and getting Mr Universe big in a setting where food and general resource scarcity would be the no. 1 concern and roids wouldn't be easily accessable.

The social picture in TLOU sometimes feels more like "what if Covid was 20% worse" than "What if 80% of humanity was wiped out and every society on the planet collapsed". Like, the world of TLOU doesn't feel like it's own unique society and culture built around and from this apocalypse setting, it feels like the world as it is right now but 5 minutes after the apocalypse started where things are more or less the exact same but there's less people and the buildings are run down.
It's funny to think that if Joe wasn't a perpetually malding schizoid with a hateboner for Sleepycabin adjacent people, he could have ended up a guest star on Smiling Friends to voice a character with the wacky voice he did in his old animations, or animated a side character for a quick gag or something like that. He'd probably also be remembered a lot more fondly instead of being known as a bitter has-been who didn't make it.
