I just find it funny she got so defensive and Lyle retweeted it.
Thank you, that is the context I wanted. It seemed super lame and defensive in the cliche "anyone I don't like is a poo-poo diaper baby!" response you see from that specific kind of person to me and my first incorrect impression was that you posted it as an epic own from her that was entertaining on it's own merit rather than pointing out how stupid it was. That was stupid of me, and I should have seen you where pointing it out as the dumb thing we all knew it was. Apologies.

Some neat fan animation recommended to me:
el negro corey de la Minguez
Crash pedo sting bit
Average discord mod behavior

11,000 people currently watching Smiling friends on Youtube right now so proud of our boy

Most of you probably already saw the April Fools prank that adult swim did, so I won't go on about it here.

They aired the actual S2:E1 afterwards, here's that:

I didn't download the file directly from the link, because it was around 350MB in size (or close) and it'll take me about a few years to upload it here, so fuck that.

New Episode was hilarious, and incredibly well-animated. May be too early to say we are so back, but I've got a big smile on my maw right as I type this.

That PS1 character was really well done

you don't have to "go on about it" but you could at least describe it. thanks for the link to the episode tho!
3 episodes from season 1, but remade with puppets (Mr Frog, Shrimp's Odyssey, Charlie Dies), and then the first episode of season 2 for real.

Best part is each puppet episode is done with a different kind of puppet.

Edit: Now its on the AS channel

thanks. i was very impressed with the puppet versions, i think they're in some ways better than the originals. i thought the first episode of season 2 was solid as well. seemed a little more conventionally plotted and less lolrandom than a lot of season 1, but still creative, funny, violent, full of oneyplays voices, etc. feeling optimistic for season 2.

this tiny blooper was entertaining

This continuation did NOT live up to expectations, and it sets a dangerous precedent for the following episodes. Season two of Smiling Friends jumped the shark.

I'm not going to sugarcoat my feelings on the matter; the jokes just weren't that funny, the plot was flimsy at best, the animation is floaty, and it just has a bad cartoon feel.

Being a longtime fan of Michael Cuaysack and Zachary Haddel and their previous work (Smiling Friends Season 1), I guess you could say I had set a higher standard for the future work. It's truly disappointing to see such a decline in quality. And let me tell you, folks, I've been waiting for this season like a kid waits for Christmas morning, only to find out Santa brought them a lump of coal! It's like they took everything that made the first season great and tossed it out the window! I mean, come on, guys, get it together!

You can do better!

We deserve better!

Something I said in the Pokémon thread
You just about brushed on with what I think is one of the charm points with Pokemon that other games manage to fail at often. When it comes to the map and set pieces it's important for a game like that to feel quaint in a way, like it's a little diorama of a town and it feels pleasant to even stand in. This is important and compelling art design that RPGs are better off with too (which some devs still mange to fail at), and the first 5 generations of Pokemon were especially good at this. The 6th variably.
Palworld in particular completely lacks these quaint little destinations.

One of the other core charms can barely be helped, where Ken Sugimori is a one-in-a-million artist and the company uses his work as a basis. I always hope to see devs and artists try and manage besides that.

PalWorld isn’t a Pokemon clone anyway. It’s a ARK: Survival-like with some Pokemon elements. The “Pokemon but with guns” thing is just a meme that started with the trailer and essentially took on a life of its own.

It’s not gonna be a “Pokemon killer”, but it’s going to do completely fine for what it is. A small indie company doing those kinds of numbers and literally making more money than they know what to do with? I don’t think they have any worries for the time being.
