Rare interview from the Sleepycabin era where Zach just totally kills it trolling the hosts. Highly recommend.

hope everyone's enjoyjng all the sp0o000ky dark souls and "best of" content. boneyplays will probably start just before dangdang's halloween stream... which is to say, Nov 2

New Sonic episode, even if you don't like Cory this one's worth a watch. Apparently not only was someone catfishing as Lyle, there were Zach, and Chris catfish as well.

Great value Chris, Zach and Lyle need to make their own version of OneyPlays. They can just pull any bald, bearded man off the street as a 4th because they are all Tomar anyways.

I remember Zach mentioning someone pretending to be him on discord years ago, and fake Zach having a weird relationship with someone pretending to be someone like Chris or Cory.
I wonder if these are the same fakes or different ones, I don't understand the kind of autism to pretend to be someone else.

I missed the Dingdong stream last night but I managed to catch this one from earlier today! It was SNES games too.

It's actually amazing that Chris kept calling him Cosmo when he was with ding dong and Julian, and even made a joke about how much he fucked up his life
Posted about this in the Stamper thread. I put this on at work on my earbuds and almost had a fit laughing at the cosmo references. Can't remember if he said Cosmo or Narcissa, regardless it was great to hear him and Cory sing "I'm out of my mind"

Chris really carried a lot it, huh?
Ding Dong and Julian by themselves are fucking boring as hell, especially DD, who allows his manic depressive self wallowing and bitterness to completely overtake him in solo streams. Chris worked really well with them because he was able to tease out their most based elements, like some kind of faggot whisperer.

It always got a rise out of me whenever Chris could get Julian to say how awful the gay community and Mexicans are, or just straight up calling him a 'faggot word'. Ding Dong could fight Chris on certain things intelligently which made for fun bits, bur Chris didn't care about his feelings much either so didn't bowl over every time Ding Dong said something retarded.

I'm amazed anyone here can manage to sit through anyone's stream, let alone Dongus'. They always seem to be like fuckin 5 hours or more, and the most common sentiment about them is how much time he spends throwing a pitty party and vaguely talking about drama.

I did always appreciate Jules' zero fuck attitude when it came to doling out criticism of basically anything. He really didn't give one squirt of piss and sometimes even caught Chris by surprise with it. And same for Dong, particularly when it came to games. Having someone who actually understood game design to pick apart some of Chris' tism and be able to back it up made for some great talks. And Chris' complete lack of care for anyone's feelings over largely irrelevant shit like video games kept things from getting too pretentious. He had no issue just saying "I don't care. It's still shit/I still like it". Guy sticks to his guns and that's always appreciated.

I might prefer the sleepycabin guys as a whole, but I'll never deny that DD&J were definitely the "golden" era of the channel.

I played against Jeff and Stamper in street fighter a few times, and they were both actually pretty decent. Which isn't that surprising considering they're older than I am and have played the series much longer as a result. Played them both in 4, but mostly stamper. He really liked Blanka and knew how to lay down the pressure. And Jeff was a Dhalsim main iirc. Rolled me in 5 when it was first coming out more times than I care to admit

It depends on the context. Their Night in the Woods stream is fantastic, because the play-through gives them abundant things to discuss the whole way through. There's game-design talks, there's character design talks (in particular, the wrenching feeling of an interesting art style wasted on such a pile of garbage), writing and dialogue critiques, and the growing fatigue of "there's an entire game of this" combined with just how wholly out-of-touch the writing is with anything even mildly resembling actual depression, much less actual life. Not to mention the classic "rich yuppie attempts to write deep work on depression" trope of trying to pair a serious examination of melancholy with a spooky otherworldly lovecraft-lite monster. God there's so fucking many of those.

There are of course quirks with the stream - I believe someone donates them a stupid amount of money and DD insists on refunding it a few times, but every entertainer has quirks. DD&J work just fine as stream hosts when they are the ones providing the direction and material - ripping that stupid game to shreds. When they just put on an old game and rely more on their audience for chat topics and direction, you get the more middling, meandering content that doesn't quite have the bite and focus.
