All of these are great suggestions and all but you're missing one key point, if things start going good for them then DD won't get to complain and wallow in self-inflicted misery as much. Apparently it's very important for him to do that. *sigh*

Cory's first death this run. Kudos to him for making it this far before dying.

Cory refusing to use lock on is making me seethe and want to play DS2 again, but I don't know if I can after playing DS3 and ER for hundreds of hours after quitting DS2 after only like 20

I love to shit on DS2 as much as any other retard, but its worth a full play. I'd argue it's got the most build diversity and the most freedom in achieving those builds in as little time as possible out of all the games in Froms library. It's also the easiest by far. Bonus points for having the, arguably, best fashion in the series.

On that note: does anyone else have a hard time watching any letsplayer do a game you actually like/are good at? Maybe I'm just a sperg but I can only watch the boys, or anyone else, do games I've never played or don't like. I have a few exceptions like Chirs' og darksouls LP, but for the most part I can't stand to watch people be dogshit at a game I'm familiar with.

It’s the curse of “backseat gaming without the ability to actively communicate with the player”.

I only really watch OP as far as gaming channels (and other niche guys like Albino and Nurse), but I got pretty shitter shattered watching them play the DKC games and Mario games because they REFUSE to fucking run. Just hold down the run button Tomar you psychopath! You'll make 100% of the jumps IF YOURE RUNNING

Lyle actually made a point about that in the last Sonic Frontiers video.
He's aware that they don't make progress, but said to just treat it like a podcast. And yea, I do have that autism where I can't watch if someone keeps wandering around or doesn't know what to do even if it's super fucking obvious *cough* Arin Hanson *cough*.

Hell, just hire a guy to cut up stream vods into clips, you don't put in any extra work yet can always have a steady flow of content, win-win.
The whole point of my hypothetical is to tard wrangle ding dong. The problem with the livestreams is that he goes on too long and starts to divulge info that shouldn't be shared like a fucking retard. I want to stress this, I actually genuinely like Ding Dong and Julian (as people who make videos on line, none of that parasocial shit) but their behavior, Ding Dong in particular, can be so frustrating. They got a raw deal with the Game Grumps fallout and they absolutely did not deserve that. But their woes from the past couple years is all on them to be frank. If he's just gonna keep repeating the same behavior then an editor is pointless. No one wants to hear Ding Dong repeat, "go back to the beginning of the stream to hear my explanation" every five minutes. cut up into 10+ minute chunks meanwhile Ding Dong disclosing shit he should keep to himself is cut out (but will have been said on stream).

This is why the Dark Souls videos are some of their best ones. Corey in particular likes to fuck around, but it's clear Chirs and Corey know what they're doing in them. The benefit of blind runs is far outweighed by having people on controls who know what the fuck they're doing. The Dark Souls videos from the 2BF are literally unwatchable.

as long as someone's not total dogshit i don't care-- but alas my dear pal tomar is ABSOLUTE DOGSHIT at platformers. i get so mad at his incurious incompetence that it's hard to watch

Lock-on does fuck you up for the larger bosses, and honestly DS2 is such a fan of gank-squads that you're better off learning how to make due without it in a lot of cases. But I haven't watched any of their DS content - poor play in this game drives me up a wall. Chris not learning for fucking years and years to let the shield down when an enemy isn't attacking is a hurdle I can't get over.

DS2 is worth the play, though. It's overall my favorite of the 3 originals, though it took me a whopping 4 attempts to finally stick it out. Though I'd only overall suggest a go with the DLCs in-tow, as the base game doesn't manage to overcome being middling. The combat has a lot more consequence to everything, and even if the UI and models and animations are all abhorrently hot jank, there's a moment where it all clicks and you start enjoying the challenge provided. The level design is pretty bad before the DLCs, but honestly - DS1 after O&S has pretty junk levels, and DS3 is a straight line with some squiggles here and there.
They complain about having no money, but quit doing the easiest job ever: sitting on a couch and playing video games.
In fairness, the cost of living over in california is absurd and even a cushy job on the couch reeling in some decent dollars while still offering up plenty of time to work on something else besides might not be worth the cost of everything. But it makes their move otherwise a little harder to understand - still somewhere plenty expensive, still somewhere where you're depending on the patronage of internet strangers to survive at a pretty high cost-of-living.

Moving to the middle of nowhere, innawoods with a solid internet connection would dramatically cut the cost of rent and food staples down, really stretch that cash out further. Particularly since DD has gone on here and there about being blacklisted from insider-scenes, the advantage of being in creative hotbed-towns doesn't seem worth the price.
Devote a single day week to record a couple games and hire an editor to cut it up.
Would you even really need an editor? Work for an afternoon and you can shit out two weeks' worth of content from an 8-hour session. You're trimming boring moments, maybe doing an overlay animation here and there, and tinkering with the separate audio streams to cut down on overlap or clipping -- it's pretty straightforward stuff. Like, I believe that the Limit Breakers guy needs to work a 40 to get his videos up to speed, but the average Let's Play is a pretty easy thing to do.

The only time Ive experienced something like that was with dsps playthrough of mirrors edge, I thought I was actually going to keel over the 3rd time he missed the jump between the two cranes. But dsp is a special kind of sped so it's not really comparable

They moved out of California when they left OneyPlays. I'm not sure where they are now, but they've described it as a smaller town that's out of the way. DingDong is paranoid about the neighbors lynching him for being gay, so he doesn't go out or talk to anyone. The streams and psychological breakdowns make sense when you realize DD is living his life in an isolation tank.

If he’s scared of a small town hating faggots why did he move to a small town?

He either thought things would be different now, like on the TV shows with token gay people, or he's just super paranoid. Strangers don't come up to you and ask if you're gay....do they?

a couple streams ago DangDang was talking about some irl drama he and julian got into with neighbors somewhere in the deep south. it sounded like the exact kind of bullshit that can happen if you (an outsider) move to an extremely poor area and

- fail to assimilate and/or
- let yourself get entangled with the intractable, petty problems of the violent fuckups around you

for those who haven't had the displeasure of such experiences, this rusty cage vid gives a good example:

anyway per the stream, DD & J got called fags or whatever, which isn't hard to believe. nor is it hard to believe that some relatively small confrontation with a drunk or methed out local bully could send the two of them spiraling into a paranoid abyss.

so, they moved away to their PRESENT location, which is apparently much better.

Lol that’s it? I deal with that at least once every week, I even dealt with that in Atlanta just recently. It seems they’re scared of being shot by some drunk or methed up retard. Honestly they just need to deal with it

ahh there was a bunch of detail i wasn't paying attention to, but that's my impression of it. i don't know how srs it really was or wasn't... because while on one hand DD&J are truly paranoid and could easily turn even playful ribbing into some kind of dangerous conspiracy... on the other hand, "redneck nightmare neighbors who ruin your life" is in fact a phenomenon that can occur.

actually for anyone who can handle some subtitles i saw a really good movie last year called "as bestas / the beasts," that centered on this dynamic happening in rural spain

DD&J, the guys known best for being degenerate faggots, can't handle some rednecks calling them faggots. If they're that terrified then maybe don't go around holding hands or kissing eachother in public. Better yet don't move to a part of the country that doesn't tolerate your faggotry. Especially when you were in faggot mecha before relocating.

I swear, these dudes(DD specifically) just have a victimization fetish and do shit specifically to get fucked with so they can cry about it online.

Needs to show us the FUCKING MIRACLE BUILD WHERE IS IT OLDMAN
