Not really fair to complain about Monster By Mistake's animation. Pretty sure that came out in the 90's when age was still in single digits, so the show was pretty par for the course of 3D shows at the time. That one to left of it though is legitimately fuck ugly though and I always hated seeing it take up a 2 hour time slot on YTV during Halloween. As for Angela Anaconda, the less said the better.
Yeah, Scary Godmother looks godawful. What sucks more is that it's pretty good. The concept art is really nice. If it were 2D it would be up there as far as Halloween specials go. They made a sequel set 1 year later and just reused all the same assets. Kids dressed in the same costumes and everything. There was some good effort put into writing it but the animation department just could not give a fuck.

Oh by today's standards it's derpy as fuck and even I found it a mediocre show (I remember it being the only thing I could tolerate in its time slot at the time. I think The New Addams Family followed it, and I loved that show so I would watch MBM in toleration), but back in the 90's it was good 3D animation. Stuff like Reboot and Beast Wars were top tier 3D animation all other shows could only dream of being.

Fun fact: Corneil and Bernie was a show from France that got translated to English.
There was a lot of that going around at the time
I think Marathon animation studio or whatever it was called, which did Totally Spies and Martin Mystery, was a French studio
Also I think Code Lyoko was French
I think the French are at their best when animating, it's usually at least more visually interesting than their leafy cousins attempts

Really glad Chris is enjoying blundertale for all its cheesiness and goofiness

Lexi seemingly doesn't have a Twitter so she's probably more normal than me and lot of other but she's also dating Cory long term so she's probably at least a little crazy.

More like CRAPPA Mikey!
This may be a hot take, but I hate videos where Tomar reads everything on the screen. I get that he's a good voice actor, but there isn't much added that anyone who played the game or watched one of the thousands of let's plays of it have already experienced. The Undertale videos just remind me of the cringy tumblr headcanon voices that were popular when it came out, with posts like "ASMR Sans x listener changing Sans' diaper."

There's something very endearing about them just enjoying the game and taking it as it is without considering all the rot clinging to it. It'll probably get a little tiresome when we get into heady story moments, but Tomar's obviously a fan and wants to bring the characters to life. Plus what other option do they have, talk over the dialog or just read it in silence? The game doesn't stay interesting by its gameplay alone.

Is that a normal behavior, watching a bunch of different full playthroughs of the same game? And even games I've played already I didn't play recently enough to remember.

So yes I think that is a hot take, I prefer someone reads the thing, personally.

Also going a little OT seeing Alex Yiik above me, recently I watched all 15 hours of the (almost) complete playthrough of that game and I thought it was pretty fantastic. YiiK is one of those things that's a little like a videogame lolcow in that it's not necessarily good, but it's not-good in a very compelling way.

The Oney people said this, and I'm of the same opinion that it's really a shame that people attacked the dude who made YiiK like he shouldn't make stuff even though there's obviously something remarkable about the game, because if it was really out and out bad nobody would give a shit about it. People online acting like idiot mongoloids, what else is new.

I don't want to go off on too much of a tangent, but I wish there were more YiiKs because everything I've seen related to it (like the Running Shine video) has been great.

I like that the whole audience is a slightly artistic and produces a ton of quality animation.

I kinda agree. It's something they've started doing more and more, just reading out every single text box that comes up and pretty much halting everything until one of them finishes talking before finishing reading it. It's a shame too because they've made of people doing that a decent amount of times in the past.

it doesn't bother me in undertale or yuppie psycho -- as long as the game is fun and the boys do funny voices i'm entertained.

youtubers reading text boxes aloud only grates on me when it's these hacky super-indy horror games where the main character finds multiple 3-page notes explaining the premise. that happens a lot in let's plays by mark or jacksepticeye or whatever. in those cases i generally just pause, read the text, and then skip ahead in the video

I hate those types of LPs in general. I'm watching such videos for funny or insightful commentary, not have someone read the entire game to me. God forbid if they do a voice for every character...

It's a story-driven game and if they didn't read anything they'd just be breezing through it with little reaction. I'm enjoying hearing adam and Chris react to some of the sillier moments in the game, though they should let Adam do more reading because I love hearing him trip and stumble over the text

That's the prologue. The game doesn't drop the KH3 title card until after you beat that.

But good they dodged a bullet that game is incredibly shit by most metrics.
I went in with no expectations and left with crushing disappointment.
It does get better but yeah it wasn't worth waiting 13 years for. Most of the good story stuff is at the end and in the dlc.

Meh... it's a mixture of good and bad. But that's because I don't really keep up with KH and its confusing lore.

I think that after the patch and dlc KH3 is a really enjoyable game, it has some good bosses and mechanics, and the org 13 battles from the dlc and extra final extra boss are all fantastic.
If all you want to see is the story tho then yeah, its pretty shit, but I think it is a pretty sound game mechanically, better than the non numbered titles imo.

The end is where the story totally fell apart for me
The first 90% of the game is doing nothing while people assure you they will totally be doing something important later on both sides
Essentially nothing happens for the vast majority of the game and then you reach the final stretch where they try to clumsily cram in resolutions to 14 different plotlines all in the span of an hour and it just doesn't work because they barely setup any of it during the other 40 hours you are expected to spend in the game
It just feels like things start happening because it's the climax with no rhyme or reason not to mention Roxas coming back as his own person sort of undercuts and ruins the story and ending of KH2

It maybe didn't help that I did a Level 1 Critical mode run of KH2 the month before KH3 came out and reminded myself just how good the gameplay is in KH2 but I really cannot stress how low my expectations were for the game already because I had been off the KH train for years at that point, but the game was still massively disappointing to me as a story and as a game

It totally was shoved out as a borderline tech demo game because Nomura was tired of this shit and it needed to come out. Dlc fixed a lot of issues ending wise, but im Honestly a lot more hyped for the sequel because it looks like he'll have more freedom to do what he wants in a last action hero sort of way.

Disney was very much up his ass whenever he wanted to do something with a particular brand like frozen

I forgot about this game. Always thought it looked cool but never tried it. I'll have to remember to pick it up on sale.
Cory being behind the controls is just the worst
death road to canada is a great game which i highly recommend even at full $14 gog price. and yes cory is terrible at it and does everything wrong. "running out of gas... oh, here's an option to siphon some gas. no, i'll do the other choice."
