I think Joe is unironically to some degree mentally unwell. He's like that one weird kid in your class that doesn't talk to anybody and sometimes randomly laughs during class because, in his head, he's got some weird joke that only he understands. You know the type - kids who, when you look at them, they are like 1 step away from being put in a special needs class and you wonder what the fuck are they doing in normal school to begin with. Like, I can't understand 80% of his sperg-out drawings.
