This chapter... lol wow.

Too cute to spoiler tag.

I love these cover page requests, looks like we're getting a batch of them.

It's a very action-packed chapter, but this is my favorite since we're getting a scale of Kaido's dragon form. Like yeah, he's huge, and I thought he'd be a bit bigger, but still, it's really cool. Also does look like it's the Dragon-Dragon Fruit alright. Kaido's still a huge mystery, but I'm glad we're getting to finally see him in action.

Oda tends to do them in between cover arcs.

Seems like Big Mom's words to Luffy about his strength not being enough were indeed true, I think that Luffy will need at least 2 new gears to take out Kaido singlehandedly. I think it's about time for him to get his fruit awakened at least.

Right now Luffy is at the level where he can reliably beat a Yonkou Commander with a degree of effort, but he has to either power up greatly, or team up with other Supernovas to take out Kaido. My money is on him teaming up with Kidd while imprisoned together.

Lol "singlehandedly". I think Oda said it'll take more than a standard fight to take down Kaido (I think it was either in an interview or at one of the Jump Festas or some shit) because he's too fucking strong for that (and because it would probably dissatisfy the audience). It's definitely going to require everyone pitching in to somehow fuck up Kaido at least.

I'm assuming only the Strawhat-Samurai-Mink-Heart-Bullshit-Alliance-Association are the ones involved in this and Big Mom and her family don't show up to rape the plot.

Tama is fucking dead. Luffy watched everyone get wrecked all at once and got his ass beat in less than 10 seconds. We're about due for the finer details of Gecko Moria's encounter with Kaido.

I don't recall him mentioning that, and I follow up on Oda statements pretty religiously. But either way, Luffy will have to power up to be able to hold his own, even if he does gets help.

I have a feeling that she will show up at some point. This is a big chance for revenge on Luffy. And I don't think she will miss it, not after what he's done.

I think that was more Luffy imagining the worst possible outcome, remember that Kaido wanted to capture Tama earlier in the arc. No way the Alliance is dead either. But I still think it will be interesting to see how Luffy reacts to what seems like the exact same outcome Moria faced.

I am also excited for more info on the Moria/Kaido thing, not to mention his comeback, Moria strikes me as an "untapped potential" kind of character, his fruit is capable of a lot more than what he's done so far, and he's clearly been out of shape/practice when he faced Luffy.

It was in the One Piece Great Newspaper Vol.2. At the time he wasn't sure how Luffy was going to take on Kaido, and that it probably wouldn't be straightforward.

She still has to fix what he broke, break the asses of those who failed to stop him, and do general getting-her-shit-togethers. I'd prefer her fat ass showing up not happen during the Wano arc, shit is already screwed this early into the arc and I don't think we need the distraction from that.

The Beasts Pirates don't care past her being a random citizen they can sell for a profit or something, Kaido couldn't give 2 shits about her period. Holdem was the one who found out about her ability and tried to exploit it, and he probably didn't have her long enough to run that information up the chain of command before Luffy kicked his ass.

Also there's no way he was only imagining it. Why show those panels at all after the flashback spots instead of conveying Luffy assuming the worst with thought bubbles and dialogue? This is like the ending of Sabaody but with consequences directly related to Luffy's actions. Hopefully, anyway. It'll suck if we go backwards and we get a bunch of cop outs (a la Law keeping his arm after Dressrosa and Pell surviving) after the arc where a major ally got killed onscreen and a (theoretical at this point) crewmate and his group stayed behind to get molested by Big Mom instead of joining officially.

Oh yeah, the alliance is definitely out there, the plot mandates it.

There's a whole set of new info coming out on the new Vivre Card collections, one tidbit of it is particularly theory-worthy:

Lmaooooooooo dammit Oda! :story:

My personal belief is still that she's like a cousin or twin, although I'm curious as to why she'd be separated from her twin if that's the case.
Playing devil's fruit advocate here: it might just be saying that she's from Logue Town, y'know, the last point in the east blue part of the story and where she first appeared?

Artur will be making a full post on the new Vivre Card info, but this new snippet is nice, BB's got the coolest ship name out there, it's like it came from a JRPG lol:

Your letter has been read fully, and your thoughts have been inputed and accepted for better improvement. Thank you for your time and efforts.

That's very probable though.

I actually found the base Vivre Card binder at Kinokuniya, but I decided against buying it because Vivre Card is an obvious money trap. I bought the first two volumes of One Piece Party instead.
