Weekly Shonen Jump #36-37/2018 cover Image

Spoiler One Piece Chapter 913 from Tieba Baidu:

In the cover, 17:00 hours. Orlumbus leaves de island.

Hawkins: Do you guys know who runs things currently here on Wano?

Luffy: Kaidou right?

Zoro: You shouldn’t say that, Luffy.

Luffy: What I just said now was lie! (Directed at Hawkins)

Hawkins: The chances of you guys being alive in a month’s time is 19%

As Hawkins minions draw near, the sword Luffy is holding picks Zoro’s interest

Zoro: Is that a Meito? (named sword) please show me the sword! (Zoro asks a smug Luffy to show him the sword cause he senses the presence of a meitou)

Luffy ignores Zoro’s and proceeds to beat down his opponents, the Lizard that Hawkins minions are riding on flies towards him.

Luffy grabs the Lizard by the nape of it’s neck, and throws it at Hawkins but with his straw blade hand (i.e a blade made out of straw?) Hawkins thrusts and kills the lizard.

Zoro attempts to cut Hawkin’s face, but Hawkins takes no damage

With the Straw Straw ability, Hawkins stocks a number of clone straw dolls of his minions via the straw dolls, Hawkin’s damage is transferred to his minions.

Hawkins' blade can transform into a straw blade and his straw blade becomes a sorcerer.

Hawkins says "Lets start a game".

He draws a Tarot card, and it turns out to be The Fool in opposite position.

Then his subordinates begin to break up because of the effect of this card.

Luffy and Zoro are riding on Komainu to take Otama to a doctor.

Hawkins draws a new card, and it turns out to be The Hierophant in opposite position, which is the chasing card.

The straw blade starts to chase Luffy and Zoro.

It looks like the straw blade has a connection with Hawkins.

When Hawkins swings his blade, the straw sorcerer swings his spiked weapon.

Zoro cuts the straw blade into half, but the one gets injured is a subordinate of Hawkins. Hawkins is holding The Hierophant (the escort card).

Then he predicts someone will come to help Luffy and Zoro to escape and he gives up on chasing them.

As Luffy and the other’s ride on Komachiyo’s back and move towards their destination, a Lady starts thanking them.

It’s the woman Zoro saved from scoundrels right before he met up with Luffy.

A little while ago, in midst of the turmoil, she hid weathering the storm inside komchiyo’s tail.

Her name is O-tsuru. She owns a Tea shop in a nearby town. It seems like she’s an acquaintance O-tama, in order to cure O-tama, she suggests that they stop by her store to give her some medicine.

Wano, “Okobore”? town.

In O-tsuru’s tea house, the Sumo wrestler Yokozuna “Urashima”? is requesting something from the “sign board girl”?

O-kiku Urashima: “If you become my bride, you won’t even need to work and you’d be able to eat as much rice as you want from the finest plantations/farms”

Luffy and the others happen upon that scene.

O-tsuru instructs O-kiku to quickly go prepare medicine for O-tama.

The Heart pirates are looking upon the scene from a mountain in the distance with binoculars

Penguin: Isn’t that Straw Hat?

Bepo: Before they start a fuss/any commotion, should I go and call them.

Shachi: You stand out too much, Bepo…

I wish I wasnt so busy I can actually read the newest chapter more than once.

Other than that. Guess what. I am utterly in love with Im. I will be purchasing the Reverie Manga when I go to the United States this year specifically to have Im on hardprint.

I really want to see more of Im.

Edit - just read the spoilers. Good to see more regrouping is about to happen, as Penguin said best. I hope Law and Inu are there ( can't remember what their plan and destination was)

I totally understand, and I'm in the same boat, somewhat. I don't love the character because just his mere existence scares the shit out of me, but I'm in love with the concept, and I'm super excited to see where it goes. I just can't wait to see what Oda has in store for this guy to make him worse than Blackbeard. Because I'm sure everyone believed Blackbeard to be the final boss, but now it's all thrown back up into the air again, and until we learn more about who Im is, we can't exactly get a good idea of how the final battle will go. Theories can only go so far.

(I also can't wait to see Im in the anime, like I want to know if there'll be a theme specifically made for him. Like I want a villain leitmotif sooooo baaaaad.)

I think he is more suited to being Akainu's replacement as the biggest governmental enemy.

But yeah, can't wait to see him in the anime.

Some dumbass one-shot came out. It sorta resembles early-One Piece/Romance Dawn.

Oh and the chapter's out too:
https://jaiminisbox.com/reader/read/one-piece-2/en/0/913/page/1

And the motherfucker's on break next week. Again.

Also, according to this:
https://soranews24.com/2017/09/03/o...ended-the-series-far-longer-than-he-intended/

One of the initial reasons One Piece went on longer than the intended five years (HA!) was because he introduced the Warlords of the Sea into the story.

Raise your hand if you knew Basil's Devil Fruit was called Straw-Straw Fruit.

...

I mean, it was pretty fucking obvious.

But holy fuck was that cool or what? That can't be the only fight we'll have, there's gotta be more to this guy that just that. Oh man, the nightmare fuel he could create is going to be wicked.

Why does Shonen Jump itself have to go on break?

Speaking of Blackbeard, today's his birthday! Here's his character song:

It's also Inazuma's birthday. He (occasionally she) is cool.

Today's character birthdays:
  • Gaimon
  • Octopako
  • Vasco Shot

I'm still convinced that Oda really-really-really-really wanted an excuse to draw a giraffe and so he just went fucking bonkers with the idea by turning a swordsman shipwright into a giraffe--which just so happens to be Kaku's favorite animal apparently--and did the impossible by making a sweetheart animal into a killing machine that could cut down a goddamn building.

Bonus points that Sniper King became a sword during the battle.

My brother today purchased a huge-ass book called "One Piece: Color Walk Compendium" that recently came out consisting of the many color spreads (and more!) from East Blue to Skypeia. It's really cool to have them all in one place, I could just get lost in it. There's also some comments from Oda here and there about the brief backstory behind a certain picture, it's neat. For a taste of it, gonna post a one of the comments here that may-or-may-not have been published elsewhere, I dunno, but it's in this book.

"When I was a child, I was drawing for fun and received praise for a picture. I became overblown with confidence and declared that I was going to become a manga artist. At that time, I wanted to become the best at drawing pictures. I believed that the person who draws the best is the best manga artist.

When I was in middle school, I drew a photorealistic picture for a drawing competition that I was extremely satisfied with. I thought I would surly win the grand prize, but ended up receiving a secondary prize. The drawing that won the grand prize was an energetic piece that seemed like something a middle school kid would draw.

When I was 17, I created my "own style" in order to become a manga artist. This also satisfied me very much. But the only reaction I received from others was that "it's a difference kind of picture". I learned that there is no such thing as an appropriate level of drawing skills, and from this realization, I lost sight of what I needed to do to become a manga artist.

When I was 19, I received my first fan letter. Somebody I didn't even know complimented the work I made. I was very happy. Then, I remembered the essence of this art form. The ability to create something that people would enjoy. I draw manga for all the people who will read it. But even now, I sometimes draw things for only my own satisfaction and that might not necessarily translate to the readers.

But that is that. And as for my silliness, pardonez-moi."

Hawkins DF is one of the most scariest powers in the series in my opinion. That Straw Monster form from way back at Sabaody was terrifying.

Today is Fujitora/Issho's birthday! Here's his character song:

He shares a birthday with Gedatsu and Hattori.
