- Kuma turning out to be a former king of a WG-aligned nation kind of makes sense for the motivation for destroying his mind (becoming a revolutionary) that they presented here but it doesn't exactly sit right with me. Wasn't he a Warlord of the Sea? Exactly what was the reason for using him and not someone else as the basis for the Pacifista project? The only thing he could get from that that I can think of is potentially unfettered access to Vegapunk to pick his brain for information about whatever for the Revs to use, but that's it (he can't exactly get that much info elsewhere if he's just a privateer and not something like a Cipher Pol agent or a Marine... can he?)
- Alright, let's unpack this, Kuma was a King, then became a revolutionary, then became a Shichibukai, and is now a slave. I personally would probably guess that he was basically forced into being a lab rat for the Pacifista program, which eventually led to his slavery. Perhaps he was told it was either this or his country getting blown the fuck out. But man is his current state so sad.. I wouldn't rule out a mercy killing. Plus, he is probably the arc's wild card along with Green Bull.
-Speaking of Warlords, Fujitora's talking his game plan with Cobra and Riku. I'd love to have seen that meeting real-time for once as opposed to the flashback we're inevitably going to get.
I am guessing that Fujitora is gonna work with King Riku to end the Shichibukai program, they will probably draft a law to be voted on in the Reverie.
-I hope Charloss is all bark and no bite here, otherwise between his bitching, Roswald's comments about the Donquixote dissention from the ranks, and the shit from the last few pages, Mjosgard (and anyone he allies with, remember Ohara) may have some serious shit heading his way.
I think shit will indeed be flying, remember, they have a slave that can wipe the floor with nearly anyone who enters, though Kuma seems to be in a very bad condition.
-Just what the hell is Jewelry Bonney's exact connection to Kuma anyway? Are we going to get an idea as to why Blackbeard (who knows waaaaay more than the main story implies) and Akainu considered her as important as they did (remember right before the timeskip).
- Jewelry Bonney is the series' great enigma imo, not only does she infiltrate Mariejois, she also got caught just before the timeskip, yet somehow isn't in Impel Down. Personally, I expect that she's either his daughter or his wife.
-Meh, sabo. I'm remembering how Ivankov called Dragon after Marineford to talk about Kuma, I wonder how much he knows, and how much the Revolutionary Army's top brass doesn't...
Remember, Ivankov was in Impel Down for a while before Luffy busted him out. He would definitely be out of the loop for a minute there compared to someone like Sabo, who was there all along.
-Out of 170 member nations, only 1/3 are invited to the world summit? And the world leaders consider Wano (and probably other non-member nations) to be anarchic. Considering that it's most likely the domain of the Beasts Pirates, they may not be that far off.
I think the Wano Kingdom isn't part of the WG because of its role in creating the Ponyglyphs, that, and it currently being ruled by someone who isn't serving the WG.
-The Kano Kingdom ruler is back, and he alludes to stuff to talk about, yet again.
Yeah that Kano guy interests me greatly.
-Five Elder Stars are shady motherfuckers once again, and they're referring to the Nefertari family as traitors for not joining the Twenty Kingdoms in heaven. Hmm....
Yeah those old dudes are up to no good, and if I've read between the lines correctly, they're basically suggesting a new Void Century!
Also, note their fears of Cobra noticing some thing, I have a weird feeling that they were the ones to push Crocodile into launching his Alabasta coup in the 1st place, because there is no real reason for them to cover-up his defection/defeat otherwise, they didn't try to cover-up Law's defection, nor Blackbeard's, so why this one (and Doflaming0's, which only failed because of Fujitora)? With their feelings on the Nefertari family now known, they have a clear motive to do it.
-"Im" is probably a) someone who has the complete knowledge of the Blank Century and the ability to act on that info however he wishes or b) someone from that era who survived to this very day (given that he sits on the Empty Throne with no problem, and the Five Elder Stars are subservient to him and speak to him as if they would a prophet)
My personal theory on this Im guy: He's actually from that bygone era, and he's being kept alive by Bonney's powers. Hence her getting off scot-free in the time-skip. As always, we should expect anything at this point.
-Im has sliced up Luffy's and Blackbeard's wanted posters (chapter 906, the top two contenders for the One Piece? One has a smaller straw hat and there's something not right with the other), stabbed Shirahoshi's (aka the current Poseidon, one of the Ancient Weapons) picture, and is looking at Vivi's (Cobra's old and sick, and he may have even less time left if he's going to be talking poneglyphs with the Elder Stars, which makes her the last living descendant of the "traitor" of the 20 families that "began the world")...
The connection between BB and Luffy is far simpler: The 'D' initial.
Consider that Im is not just some Celestial Dragon, he's their fucking boss, and the D. family are his mortal enemies. Now also consider that we already know from WB's dying words that for some unrevealed reason, BB isn't the true heir of Roger.
Now combine the two facts, and Shanks' objective for meeting the Gorosei becomes clear: He wants to misdirect them and get them to focus on Marshall D. Teach rather than Luffy (i.e. he wants to use BB as a red herring to get their sights off Luffy and allow the latter to reach Raftel and change the world).
I suspect that this ploy won't work though (if it doesn't blow-back and give Teach further opportunities), because Chapter 906 shows us that Im has already made a mental connection between Luffy and the ancient Straw hat.
I honestly don't know about Vivi (she's not an interesting character to me tbh, Carue is based though lol), and I agree on Shirahoshi/Poseidon.
