People do this with everything including stuff like Metal Gear. They just cannot separate themselves to get engrossed in the fiction. They see the slightest hint of similarity and all pretenses that hte fiction made for itself gets washed away because "it's just like real life!! frfr"I saw this in my recommendations, knew without clicking the video what it was gonna be and blocked the channel from recommended. With this it's always "Any political theme in art is always supporting my real life current politics!!!". I feel it's counterproductive to be black, put yourself in the thumbnail and re-enforce stereotypes that your opinion is stupid and pre-fab.
I say it all the time but as a creator it has to be annoying that instantly any artistic integrity flies right over these people's heads and they're incredibly loud which is the worst thing.
It's the same argument with Nojiko but it's like i thought the point of this adaptation is to get the characters as close to their real world race as possible. If Alabasta is based on the Middle East then this actress sort of stands out if everyone else is also accurately portrayed right?I love how people defend this because Vivi is drawn with sliiightly darker skin in the colored manga than in the anime. But they'll also freak out if you point out Nico Robin was made darker in the anime and was always paler in the manga.
