Politics should only be tolerated if they go into letters of Marque, historical pirates, and incredibly schizophrenic explanations on how Pirate Island is Iwo Jima and thus Oda is an apologist.

I just had an autisitic revelation:

Imu is umi backwards; umi can mean sea and ocean. I have seen people on the Interwebs speculating, that Imu-chan* has a water-based Devil Fruit power. And then we also have the Yin-Yang symbolism.

*I think we have enough evidence, that Imu is a woman, which does does raise the following question: Who is Best Girl? It's Robin

there is also the ancient japanese story of the umibozu which is a giant shadow monster that appears at sea. that being said i think imu is actually just some form of actual devil and the devil fruits are either from imu or someone related to imu.

I'd hope not cause that wouldn't mix with the can't swim if devil fruit dynamic, I'd think maybe it's a rock paper scissors situation nika beats davy jones, davy jones beats imu, imu beats nika. The sea devil thing was something davy did to cuck imu or its equivalent back in the day cause devil offering power is gay when if you're just a fucking chad with god level haki its all pointless anyway.

There are DFs that go around the water weakness such as Snow Snow fruit, Ice Ice fruit, Huge Huge fruit and I am sure there are others. Hell, Snow and Ice are water outright.

you can make an argument there different forms of water like theres buoyancy differences and shit water gets weird when you change it. Maybe davy didn't rules lawyer hard enough and it only effects water under normal atmospheric conditions and pressures

DF users need to be sufficiently submerged in water before the weakness takes effect. Snow, ice, and rain all make insufficient contact to do anything.

Actually it has to do with liquid, submersible water such as the ocean or a bath. Ice and snow are not liquid, rain and showers are not submersible etc etc. Fruits such as ice and snow can freeze the water even if the user is paralyzed. The users still have access to their powers even while paralyzed.

I don’t think that’s Oda’s style. He’s building towards answers, and the only reason he doesn’t give them is because he wants things to be somewhat of a surprise, and because a lot of the answers he’s building towards has Luffy at the center of them.
 
I hope one day we see the original Warlords interacting and or fighting their Seraphim clones. Maybe one day Boa meets S Snake and decides to adopt her as her own child ? The possibilities are endless.
