Did we see the same panel ? Garp was completely fine after getting hit by Rogers sword slash, meanwhile Roger is in complete agony after receiving Garps punch .

Luffy punched Loki for trash talking Shanks, just like Rocks kicked Kaido for trash talking Harald aka anyone that badmouths their friends is getting an ass whopping on the spot.

Rocks was the first man since Joy Boy to directly challenge Imus rule over the world, and his legacy wasn't forgotten, Teach is going to finish what his dad started ( kill Imu and become the final boss of the series ).

Let's be honest the only reason why Rocks was hated by his own crew is because that was the only way Oda could realistically nerf the Rocks pirates. If they had each others backs God Valley would have been an easy Rocks win.

It's one thing to retreat from a losing fight when you know the alternative is death ( Luffy in Sabaody, Marine Ford ). In the case of Roger he didn't even fight Linlin for her Poneglyth, he simply stole it when no one was looking, that's how a coward does things.

Anyhoo, I guess Oda was definitely missing his wife lately since he's dedicated a chapter to showing that the Roger Pirates were not immune to the Kuja Empress' beauty. Shakky really is a bombshell, like holy hell she aged like fine wine. Kinda interesting to see Roger without his famous handlebar mustache.

Yes, we did watch the same panel. Garp is gritting his teeth. He is hurt too. Roger is not in agony. He is hurt but the fight is not shown after the initial clash.

And it was mentioned that Roger did that too all the time. It was the one trait Ace inherited that ended up killing him. That was a plot point! In this very chapter, Roger attacked Shakky for hitting Gyaban!

Roger did not know of Imu's existence yet. He learned about him around his final year. For all his flaws, Rocks was a better researcher. That had nothing to do with Roger though.

That and he is a reckless asshole that shoots himself in the foot all the time. It is called having flaws. You want to headcanon Rocks into your self-insert Mary Sue and hate Oda for giving his flaws that go with his strengths.

Yeah, Roger snuck in. And? That was Luffy's plan too. He just fucked it up. He even agreed with Bege to use BM's mental trauma to weaken her and one shot her with poison. He was never planning to fight her either and run away as soon as he got his crew with the exception of Katakuri getting in his way. The difference between Luffy and Roger was that Luffy wanted to rescue Sanji and that Roger is better at stealth. They are both sneaky though.

Roger also had no reason to know about Imu's existance.

Rock's goal was to take over the world, that instantly puts Imu as his primary enemy.
Roger's goal was to get to the end of the Grand Line..which accidentally put him on The World Government's shit list.

I am willing to bet it was Rock's that put the idea of there being something at the end of the Grand Line into Roger's head. After all it tracks

Rocks gives Roger just enough information to make it attractive
Roger fucks around for a while
Roger finds out he is sick
Roger says "Fuck it lets go see if Rocks was full of shit"

Why were people mad over that scene? I don't get what that has to do with anti progressive politics at all. I thought it was a pretty great scene to represent taking down the Kurozomi family. Was my favorite part of the end of Wano.

I can be a bit of a politisperg but I can't connect why that would make people mad (Only thing I could think of is coal being associated with black people ie coalburners? But thats so retarded lol)

Elder Nyon ( Gloriosa ) was talking about the love sickness that ruined her life. She fell in love with Roger who only had eyes for Shakky.

In One Piece those that don't accomplish their dreams age very badly, that's why Nyon looks so bad in comparison to Shakky who aged gracefully (ended up with Rayleigh ).

ONE PIECE has heart in it
its one of few series where there is heart in the show, writing and such

Also we now know why Big Mom was sure having the Giants on her side would have made her King of the Pirates, beyond their obvious military power
And finally we get Silver Axe debut (and it's giving me Denjiro debut vibes, this might be a false alarm though)
 
Oda is fucking great at setting up these character parallels. Roger being oblivious to Gloriosa paralleling Luffy and Hancock, Loki idolizing Ricks paralleling Luffy and Shanks. Fucking great.

Also, Hachinosu island looking “fish-like” until Rocks showed up is fucking great.
