We have a whole thread for about how Attack on Titan went to shit (I have the hot take that it always fucking was)
Yeah, the jannies will call us out for being off topic. In my opinion, it had a lot of potential but the payoff was not enough for the hype. Kinda like Game of Thrones. Hopefully, One Piece will not end up like that but considering how even now we are getting surprised and excited by the things we learn about the world, this fear might be unfounded.

That is not helped by 2/3 of the big three being awful by the end.

Hey, bleach was fucked by the editors and sickness, the anime reboot of last arc is fixing a lot of the fuckery IMO. Good for it, that show was a glorious meme fountain.

One piece is still better though, and Naruto is unsalvageable spergland.

The only real issue that could hurt One Piece is if something happens to Oda and it’s left in a state like High School Of The Dead. And I don’t think Oda is the kind of guy to have somebody else to pass the torch to like what happened with Berserk .

Think it's been stated there's a plan for One Piece should anything happen to Oda. Unlike with Berserk where Miura apparently didn't have a lot of stuff written down but had told someone his plan years ago, Oda has notes upon notes of what he's got in store. He actually knows what the last panel is going to look like and possibly has it scribbled down in some form or another. Hopefully Oda gets to see it to the end, but I think things are going to be okay.

I think it’s also been said that the ending is one of the first things talked about when Oda gets a new editor.

I do not know about the editors. I only know about Kubo's hand hurting. Care to elaborate?

I do not think that either.

It is good to have plans but you know what they say: "Man plans, God laughs". Still, if he has one or two people trained to carry on the story and he trusts them then good. I would prefer he sticks to being healthy and finishing the story himself though.

Always good.

As if it is just the last arc of Bleach that is awful.

Everything after Soul Society is bad.
Look, if you did not like it then fine but it is just your opinion. The overall opinion on Bleach has improved as more and more new people discover it. Many either had slept on it or decided to check it out in order to prepare for the new anime or they want to see what the inspiration behind their favourite manga is like. Hell, maybe give it a reread too.

On the editors thing, Maybe not the editor per se but corporate fuckery, Kubo got told the manga had expiration date and was told to get it done, compounded with his sickness and... yeah, you got the wreck of the last arc in the manga.

I'm glad Kubo is getting to show his real vision for the final arc through the anime. TYBW anime has been a real treat, especially cour 3.

Anyway back to One Piece. I know we've been on a roll, and a cut to what's happening around the world would feel abrupt, but I really wanna know what's happening with the Cross Guild. And especially what B.Bs next move is after Caribou tells him about the ancient weapons.

Knowing Oda, we have to wait until Luffy leaves Elbaph.

I'm just sorta wondering how much longer Elbaph can be. As it stands, there's basically five people that are antagonists which by New World standards is an extremely low number. And I'm being generous and counting Cerberus and the third God's Knight that hasn't appeared yet. Usually a lot of time in recent arcs is dealing with the bad guy shenanigans and the large numbers at their disposal, but that's lacking here unless some other outside force happens to arrive on Elbaph.

Nah we will look in on the world when something really interesting happens on Elbaph just to blue ball us again.
2 of that than 30 more chapters of fighting and late lore drops.

Knowing Oda, we have to wait until Luffy leaves Elbaf.

Annoying amender, but got to do it.

You can look back at Egghead and go, "well, obviously, Kizaru will be the main antagonist." Then the five elders show up and its an absolute fucking shitshow.

My wildest speculation is that Elbaph will end up like Zou. No huge antagonist, but rather a brief skirmish between Luffy, Loki and one of the God Knights. The God Knights will be like, "we only came we to recruit Loki. We failed." and leave. Loki gives the last ponyglyph to Luffy. Luffy & crew sail off to Lodestar. Seeing the threat of the God Knights, the giants decide to prepare for war.
