Considering Koby dissobaying orders directly led to a lot of problems now and thousands of deaths, I disagree.

Honestly everyone going ‘no you can’t punch Blackbeard’s face off to Akainu, we have to let him leave’ was one of the dumbest things to ever happen in the series. If not the dumbest.

It’s why Luffy is our protag. He’s the guy that is happy to admit he isn’t good, he is doing things because he wants to and for no other reason and he does not care about the consiquences.

Which is how you know of all people that Dragon is his dad. Because Luffy is the only character beside him that’s honest.

Dragon moreorless told Kuma flat out if you have loved ones and want to do what we are doing, those loved ones will either die or get you killed.

And then there is Garp. Whose so bad at his job of parenting both Dragon and Luffy came to the realisation of ‘not cut out for Marine’ and Dragon straight decided that parenting his kid would be a terrible idea.

Garp is honestly the worst.

Akainu was after the Whitebeard Pirates. He basically let Blackbeard go in order to pursue them. No one would give a damn if he went after Teach who was eager for a fight (until Shanks came in). The Whitebeard Pirates were retreating.

Koby literally did have a problem. Akainu snd Blackbeard were about to go at it when Koby stepped up.

Koby was going nuts over his Haki. But, yeah, Akainu was mainly going after Luffy and Whitebeard's crew. He was probably planning to go after BB but Sengoku was fighting him so he went after Luffy and anyone who fought to protect him.

I see. I wonder what I was thinking of then. Probably Sengoku and Blackbeard clashing or something.

Still I heavily fault Koby and Shanks for letting Blackbeard just leave. And because we know Shanks is a CD in hindsight it is yet another example of them fucking up the world and the Marines going along with it.

I very much look foward to the inevitable Kobby decking Blackbeard in the face. Him and Imu as that’s who Koby seems to be paired up against in the spreed.

The problem is if shanks goes after teach, then sakazuki has free reign to go after Whitebeards remenants

Shanks knew that chances were that he would not escape unscathed and, with Kaido patrolling the nearby waters for an easy removal of one of his rivals, that was suicidal. Also, there was no guarantee that the Marines would not try to take him out too should he win against BB. He would be surrounded by 5 Admiral-level opponents (Akainu, Kizaru, Aokiji, Sengoku and Garp) which could overwhelm him too and, even in victory, Kaido would follow to kill him. A similar case was for the WG as they were in a similar boat due to their forces being depleted and tired and Kaido is a threat to them as well.

Shanks was willing to go until Blackbeard said no. So I think Shanks would honestly have been ok with letting that happen after they’d blown Blackbeard’s face off. There would likely have been long enough for them to escape either way.

But that was the threat. "This ends now or I start busting skulls" it doesnt work if shanks says "this ends, except i am gonna merc Blackbeard cause fuck him"

He could try but I think in that situation Sakazuki and Sengoku tell him to eat shit cause "Oh no too much blood has been spilt" doesn't work as well when you just murdered someone with a cheap shot.

It's always been clear that Luffy and the rest of the SH are pirates doing good things for certain people. Oda mentioned plenty of times they are not heroes in fact we see Luffy specifically be selfish plenty of times but he is good hearted because he won't just sit still if an innocent person is being tormented.
 
I view SWORD as worse than regular Marines because they supposedly disobey orders…… by pretending to be pirates and raiding settlements and barely disobeying orders. They’re worse than Cipher Pol because Cipher Pol seems to actually pull off assassinations with some success.

Garp and Smoker have the same issue where I have no clue what the fuck their goal is. They serve a system which they acknowledge is evil, but really don’t rebel against it in a meaningful way. They empower it and crush any alternative.
I can understand Smoker a bit more because he’s following the lead of Garp and other Marine boomers telling him to trust the plan.

Most of the Warlords literally use their station to actually try to create change within the system more than the Vice Admirals in SWORD. It’s my big issue is that the Doffy thing loses it’s punch because of how much a fucking loser Garp is.
 
Since Lokis eyes are covered, I wonder if his devil fruit maybe has something to do with the myth of Odin giving up one of his eyes for knowledge or something. Don't know how you would work that into a devil fruit, but that's all I'm coming up with at the moment. Otherwise probably something boring like a mythical zoan that's related to one of Lokis kids like Fenrir or the World Serpent.

They don’t not really. They seem more like Marine Black Ops. For all we know Garp isn’t even a part of it. He just grabbed Coby’s team because he knew they’d want him rescued. It seems that CP0 and Sword serve different roles.

Smoker is ok. Cause at least he’s openly gone ‘i can do more change and have more power from inside currently, so I will until they fire me’.

Same is true for a lot of Sword. The problem is people like Garp. Not because he’s still there but because we never see that as evil as the WG can be we never see that yes, they are in faict the only thing keeping 99% of the world safe from pirates.

So it ends up feeling like why are you working for them, what good do they do?

Like Aokiji failed at his job at Ohara which directly led to a country being oppressed and a guy being seconds away from having a world ending super weapon, got the entire court system destroyed, is practically the reason they almost lost at Marineford and then joined Blackbeard, a dude who’s crew is full of people Aokiji probably helped lockef up and whose openly said he wants to destroy the world.

And everyone is like ‘yeah, makes sense’

Because Oda has not shown the Narines or system to be needed despite what Dragon, the most sane man, says.

One Piece could really be helped with spinoffs showing the Marines being good or news articles in universe or Cover stories showing that.

I get not knowing about Croc, everything said they didn’t, but you’d think they’d keep tabs on what their Warlords were doing. Just to be safe after that.

About the only two Warlords that aren’t trouble is Boa and Mihawk. Mihawk because he just wants to drink and chill and Boa because she just wants her island left alone.

And Kuma because robot.

Every other one actively needs to have tabs kept on them.

In myth, Loki's eyes were being doused with powerful venom and that caused earthquakes from him thrashing about.

Doffy's powers were first seen being used to manipulate two Marines into torturing each other. All the sudden, the pacifist Riku turned into a murdering madman and Doffy happened to be there to stop him. They kept an eye on him but decided to look away because he was giving them black market services.
