i just thought of something that could explain why laugh tale is so hard to find. what if its not actually there anymore. as in its destroyed or sank or something ages ago in an attempt to cover up something.

but similar to how joyboy had haki put into emeth he put haki into the remains of laugh tale to show people what happened. roger dumped his treasure there because he wanted to help joyboy find right person and he knew that people would never stop searching for the one piece.

that is also where the funny story is. roger spent all that time looking for the last island and it was long gone. any island shown that people think is laugh tale is actually some other island.

Considering how everything is supposed to connect at this island, and how the government is working to hide all the info about the old kingdom Joy Boy is from, it makes sense. Thanks, Vegapunk.

Not sure how he'd do that to an island, Considering that Emel was supposed to use that Haki, but your idea on Roger makes sense.

Well, I'd still say that the "funny story" is how Joy Boy managed to do what he did. So this clicks.

If they're going to make Chopper a practical effect and then his forms be CGI, what about Karoo, or will he even show up?

Someone at the BBC got drunk as shit and made a very odd deal.

Straw Hat Crew get ready! The BBC has acquired the UK rights to over 1000 episodes of the English dubbed versions of the legendary anime series One Piece.

One Piece is a Japanese anime television series produced by Toei Animation, based on Eiichiro Oda’s manga series of the same name, which is the No.1 manga in the world with over 500 million copies sold and over 100 volumes published. One Piece has been on screens internationally since October 1999 and celebrated over 1000 episodes. The long-running anime series is IMDB’s highest-rating TV show of 2024 so far, securing the top spot with an impressive 9.0/10 user rating.

One Piece is an adventure story that follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his crew - the Straw Hat Crew – as he explores the Grand Line in search of the mythical treasure known as the “One Piece” in order to become the next King of the Pirates.

The BBC is the only place in the UK that audiences can watch dubbed versions of One Piece, and fans will be able to enjoy all the sagas from East Blue through to Land of Wano.

Fiona Campbell, Controller of Youth Audiences, iPlayer and BBC Three, says: "It’s a really exciting move to bring the One Piece franchise to UK audiences in the coming months. With its captivating storytelling, rich characters and global fanbase, One Piece has become a cultural phenomenon and we're so excited to see how the fanbase will enjoy this huge canon of episodes available in English only on iPlayer."

BBC iPlayer, in partnership with BBC Three, will release all 10 Sagas between September and December, beginning with the first 3 Sagas – East Blue, Alabasta and Skypiea (206 episodes) – on 1 September. All 1085 episodes will be available on BBC iPlayer by the end of the year. This will be the first time that dubbed versions of the series have been available in the UK.

The full list of sagas which will be available on BBC iPlayer are:

• East Blue

• Alabasta

• Sky Island - Skypiea

• Water Seven

• Thriller Bark

• Summit War

• Fishman Island

• Dressrosa

• Whole Cake Island

• Land of Wano

So wait, the UK wasn't airing One Piece this entire time?

We apparently got the 4kids dub for a while, proving we live in a land of darkness and misery, then the option for it was Crunchyroll (or other streaming services like Netflix when they have episodes on).

Interestingly sounds like the BBC is rolling out the episodes over time and, knowing them, will likely get rid of the old ones when the next batch drops.

I have watched four seasons in english and I have not tried to make the trek in complete yet or read it I just want to know. Do people that have made the journey burn out? Are there sections that are prone to burnout (similarly to the Yotsuba arc in the deathnote manga)?

I'd say it's a lot easier to burn out reading weekly than just reading the whole thing in a single go. I've been rereading most of it and it's a pretty quick read and I think it flows pretty well. Arcs that I thought were a horrible drag weekly were a lot more enjoyable binging.

For the anime I can't speak of, I haven't watched the anime outside of clips for like 20 years now. I have heard it's a bloody slog up to a point so I'd personally avoid it, but maybe somebody where into the anime can give some insight.

Just like Watch an episode a day, you don't need to mainline the entire series like a Non-Practicing Lawyer does cocaine.

I feel like once it gets long enough, the Netflix series will be the cure for burnout.

No idea about Karoo, but Chopping being practical will be in parenthesis. They will have someone on set in a costume, mo-cap suit or some variation of both. They may even have a puppet, but it'll be augmented/replaced by CGI most of the time. It'll be as practical as claiming Luffy's Gomu Gomu no Mi powers are practical because they have an actor playing the role.

For forms such as Heavy point they could be a guy in a suit with a CGI head/face replacement. Done in a similar way to Nivellen in The Witcher.
