I think Oda's on record saying that after One Piece is finished, he's not making any more manga, so he should be able to spend all the time he wants on his family. Hell, he might finish just in time to attend his children's weddings.

I’m waiting for their to be a Moon Goddess/ Moon Femboy (Jap’s have the Moon God be ambiguous leaning female) he serves to show up. I’m honestly going to guess it’ll be some Kaguya type bitch who’s the only one remaining who descended from the moon and is one of the original God’s who lived where the Celestial Dragons lived.
It'll be totally worth it if Enel lands on top of her with his ark and is all "I've been chasing after her for WEEKS!" and flies away.

And everyone knows the final fight is vs Blackbeard. And he’s been around since early on.
Fuck, I can still remember when even Drum Island felt like late in the series, especially since that was the first time we really started to get information about Gold Roger and the One Piece.

I just got around to reading the newest chapter and I just wanted to say that
Holy crap this was so satisfying.

Suck it, Saturn!

I'd be surprised if he doesn't retire immediately after OP ends after 30 years of almost nonstop work
Didn't Oda say years ago that he wanted to do a robot-themed manga after he finished One Piece? I swear I remember him doing an interview and saying that. Granted that was years ago and he could have changed his mind since, but yeah dude deserves to take a nice, long vacation when One Piece wraps up.

Edit: I double checked, you guys are right, due to health reasons he said he was done with long running series after OP:
Oda stated in One Piece Blue: Grand Data File that he wanted to create a robot manga after he finished One Piece. However, he later stated that he would never draw any more long-runners because his physical health could not stand it.

He says that, but I don’t know if his personality would let him. Granted, he’s been working on the story for One Piece since middle school, but I can see follow up projects expanding beyond his initial plans every time.

I'm 100% certain that a bunch of stuff he was thinking about doing after One Piece got incorporated into it at one point or another, like "use it or lose it". Elements of that robot thing are almost certainly funneled into Egghead and related material.

Personality, maybe, but experience will stop him. He was streamlining ideas as far back as Punk Hazard, about 2/3 of Egghead was straight exposition/set-up, etc. Also he has a family he's only semi-involved in, dreams of traveling when the manga is done, and has been in hospital multiple times doing this. He'd be a fool to do anything major (as in it starts off small and spirals out of control) after.

I am telling you, if One Piece reaches the 30th year of publication, it will be selling anniversary merch up the wazoo. Oda can retire without fear afterwards. Of course, he will be making single volume spin-off every now and then to keep his mind occupied but he will be retired and will never have to worry about money again.

‘if’ lmao

I’m betting the final Saga was entirely restructured to make sure it hits the 30th so after the book closes they can cap it off with a movie.
After One Piece ends, the movies that will be made will be canon ones. Toei make bank from One Piece, no way they will let that well dry like that. They will not let Oda be tired but they will bring him in to help with movies. Plus the Netflix so also helped with international recognition.

Except normies liked the One Piece show.
What i doln't like about people's exposure being the live action series is that many will have the wrong understanding of the story while not evenm realizing that it's Manga and Anime series. The filler arcs that the anime used to do also have this issue such as people thinkingty that luffy got his scar from Zoro not realizing that it's not canon. It is why I think that maybe filler may not be that good after all.

Honestly, the thing that’ll shock people more is Sanji. The live action series REALLY toned down how big of a simp Sanji is.

With the people working on the series there are many things that can happen but having the wrong idea on the story that actually matters is not it.

They’ve had him hit on every lady he has come across so far.

It’s not tone down, it’s they haven’t got to those parts of the manga yet. By Arlong Park end Sanji had barely simped on anyone.

Usopp’s not even a real coward in the show, causenufags and youtubers changed. They’re SO mad at a guy not putting his life on the line at every moment, cause they can’t say how one piece changed so much ground with the story(it took 20 years to finally get western eye, it didn’t lol). When those parts do come(IF THEY), fans wouldn’t care if they cut out the fawning over women in the show. These new literature experts and lefties wrongfully Act like like everything in oda’s story he deliberately put it in to have 2 hour deep dive meaning, but, then suddenly joking about seeing women naked happens is given a disgust reaction.

Sanji's simpery got big after the timeskip tbf. You could at least argue before then that he was just a caricature of the chivalrous gentlemen.
he spent two years running away into the air away from sexual predators trying to turn him out, he probably learned not to take the good things in life for granted anymore

So you’re saying we have to wait until we see Sanji going heart eyes and getting nosebleeds at every chick she sees, along with his chivalry causing him to almost lose his life because of the stubborn clinging to his morals? Because all we’ve got at this point on Netflix is just him flirting, shooting his shot, and striking out.
