Yeah but we are heading towards the end, I think there were lots of people who like the series, wanted to try the series out ect and have been waiting until the End begins..and it has.
You're not wrong, but I just felt the spoilers that just dropped made me feel like we still got a ways to go. At least we don't have to deal with a break.

Personally, I think that One Piece should last at least until 2027. The series started on 1997 and it would be 30 y/o. While Oda can retire no problem now that the series became mainstream in the west as well as the east but if they can sell 30th Anniversary merch then the money will flow even harder.

Well let me put it this way.

The Battle of Minas Tirath ended about an hour and a Half before Return of the King was over, Just because shit is happening doesn't mean we don't have a way to go Mr Frodo.

Alright. Does this mean Marineford was The Battle of Helm's Deep? Or where that one guy was yelling "DEATH!"? Or that time where Legolas and Gimli realized they were going to fight together?

I mean, no shit, but I think Oda has enough clout to end things the way he wants to, anniversary or no anniversary. Besides, just ending the manga means it can be hyped to Hell and back.

Also, I was reminded of this.

Oda noted that he had thought about the manga's ending since he was still in college. In addition, the show's host Sanma Akashiya also asked Oda what would happen if a fan managed to guess the same ending that Oda is writing. Oda replied that he would change the ending.

Akashiya also asked Oda about the goal of the main characters in the story, the titular "One Piece" treasure. Akashiya asked if the treasure was "family bonds," and Oda replied, "No, I hate that kind of thing." Oda elaborated, saying, "That's like the ending of The Wizard of Oz, which I watched when I was a kid. Adventuring that long, and having the adventure itself be the treasure, is really dissatisfying. Those kinds of stories are impossible. It feels like, 'I've gone on this long adventure, so give me the treasure!'"

And by "fans". I have to assume that Oda doesn't give a shit about folks like us Westeners ITT or YouTube theory makers or Yamato debaters or anyone who makes a tier list or dream fights for the boys in the Monster Trio.

This is such a cool shot.

Now I don't think they killed the transmission fully, so if Vegapunk's message pops back up, it'll be past the message about the "D". Think all that really matters is that he told the world it's sinking due to rising sea levels and the WG has one of the ancient weapons that is the cause of it, and that'll be enough to get people talking. I just have to wonder what desperate measures the WG is going to take next to get the peasants back in line.

I really hope so, man. Because otherwise this would be Clover and Ohara 2.0, in the final saga no less. I know the plan is to reveal it on the last island, but doing it like this feels really artificial and grinds my gears. Just have it end with Vegapunk saying something like “The meaning of D is on the last island, and the only one who knows is Roger and his crew, and they’re not the types to be blabbermouths. And with that I end my broadcast. Farewell.” Mystery box remains closed and things don’t feel like a rehash in what’s supposed to be the closing stretch. And I don’t have to remind myself I’m not the target audience of Eiichiro Oda.

So now that the broadcast is ended, we learned enough to kind of have an idea of what is at stake for the setting if Luffy loses to Imu and Blackbeard.
I think we can infer a possibility that the WHY of the conflict is what Roger and Crew were laughing at.
I think we have confirmation that Imu is 800+ and is probably Ageless if not Immortal
and we have two and a half points of information that only someone with the D in their name can..do whatever at Laugh Tale, Oden, Vegapunk are the two..Whitebeard is the half. It would explain why he wanted Ace to be Pirate King and not himself.

RE : Ending the broadcast where it is, I think Vegapunk doing it like this pushes the WG into having to deal with the fact that Garp is a D and a Hero of the Marines so this is going to be the event that causes a crack in the Marines Lawful Good/Lawful Evil factions.

I imagine most characters in the series didn't know the D. in their name is important. Something worth noting is that there were illustrations of various characters with D. in their names and most were listening to Vegapunk's broadcast. It's important that those characters become interested in finding answers to these questions because it sets the stage for those characters to start asking the World Government some very uncomfortable questions. Not getting answers sucks but it's driving plot points forward.

Vegapunk gave them too much time. 5 minutes would have been enough. Anyone who did not have video should have just stuck with audio. Vegapunk should have known that video is rare in the world. He should have made a message that got across well enough with audio alone.

pure KINO. GODa i KNEEL.
Not sure if being sincere or sarcastic .

GOD FUCKING DAMMIT I KNEW IT I KNEW IT WOULD FUCKING HAPPEN AS SOON AS SOMETHING FUCKING COOL IS ABOUT TO BE EXPLAINED IT WAS GONNA FUCKING CUT OFF GOD FUCKING DAMMIT FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK

can't wait for next chapter
Oh I know the feeling. Just kicking the can down the road further, and redoing something that was done several sagas ago, when we should be answering questions straight up at this point. (At least we don’t have to worry about new questions being asked. Hopefully) I’d say Oda’s taking the piss out of everyone thinking that this’d lead to confirmation of what they’ve speculated for ages at this point, but then I tell myself that One Piece isn’t aimed at theorists on YouTube or Reddit or Kiwi Farms. It’s for 13 year old Japanese boys stopping by 7-Eleven on their way home from school. Still frustrating though.

Half and half, Foxy Pirates is a top 5 arc for me though.

Yeah I get that, I knew something like this would happen and the multiple breaks inbetween this exposition dumps it really does rub salt in the wounds. At least there's a chapter next week though.

This has never happened in any piece of media ever without the transmission getting cut off. I'm surprised he said as much as he did.
