Nami’s likely set to get heavy focus.

I agree with everything else, but I will put a heavy and hard NOOO on that happening. The problem with Nami is that Oda blew his load early with her at Cocoyasi with Arlong. Her arc more or less ended there and has never really been spun up again.

Everyone else still has something to do or challenge, even Zoro and Sanji still have much larger goals after their island episodes. Nami has just sat in the corner doing navigator and thief stuff ever since Arlong and nothing has really changed on that front.

Also, plot threads not happening the way people want does not mean they are dropped.

Look, we all like Oda but the man is not perfect. With how many characters and plot threads he has set up it wouldn't surprise me that now we are in endgame he just kind of "forgets" a few of them exist. The major and some minor ones I believe will be wrapped up, but there will absolutely be some threads he just wholesale forgets about that get lost in the sauce of the ending.

Indeed. Which is why I assume he must have something planned because the core crew have either had something more, are about to get it or a set up for it in the final saga.

It’d be extremely surprising if Nami doesn’t get a big focus in the end game.

No idea what that is, just the level of ball dropping would be legendarily bad otherwise.

Just that a lot of ‘Oda dropped plot points’ tend to end up being ‘plot did not go my way’ but maybe the sheer number of retards that say that has made me jaded and cynical on the matter.

I think most of those will be the threads fans considered more important or detailed worthy than they were ever intended to be.

Oda does seem to be pairing stuff down and focusing on established characters at current.

TBH, I’m not sure where you could have gone with Nami after Arlong. I know you could give Nami weapon upgrades (which has happened), but outside of that, all she has is “make a map of the world”, and you can easily do that in an epilogue where she’s selling it.

Also, Usopp’s dream is “be a brave warrior of the sea”. And while there’s the issues of Elbaf and his father, I’m about 75% sure that dream can be achieved if someone just sat him down and told him of all he’s done and just tell Usopp to stop being so hard on himself. Also, I’ve heard of people talking about how “all Usopp’s wild stories end up coming true”, but again, that could be part of the “believe in yourself” talk.

Honestly, I could say that Nami, Usopp, Franky, Brook, and maybe Sanji and Jinbe have dreams that can shown as resolved in an epilogue and folks will buy it.

Also, Usopp’s dream is “be a brave warrior of the sea”. And while there’s the issues of Elbaf and his father, I’m about 75% sure that dream can be achieved if someone just sat him down and told him of all he’s done and just tell Usopp to stop being so hard on himself. Also, I’ve heard of people talking about how “all Usopp’s wild stories end up coming true”, but again, that could be part of the “believe in yourself” talk.

Usopp still needs his Conqueror's Haki (lie) to come to fruition. Not to mention leading his immense fleet (notha lie), and Doc Q making his running gag a reality.

Seems ‘losing Fruit’ is likely honestly. Blackbeard cancels it. Being near Laugh Tale seems to make you ill. Roger had a no fruit crew. Shanks outright said having a DF on his crew would be bad.

So many things point to Luffy will lose the fruit for a period.

There's also a contrast of Haki being the moral opposite to devil fruits, representing hard work and dilligence instead of wishful begging and cheating. And of course the whole spiel by Kaido about how DFs are crutches and only the strongest Haki will conquer the world

You know, I can see that, maybe have it to where instead of Devil Fruits, Laugh Tale has a positive force that counters the Gorosei’s animal forms (again, I’m going by how they have that same smoke ring as Gear 5, but black instead of white).

And the treasure is some kind of massive power for those who’ll use it. And maybe it’ll be like Goku’s Ultra Instinct, with Gear 5 being like Super Saiyan God/Blue. With Gear 5 being Luffy’s new base form.

Yeah the elder devil fruit powers are so out of the norm i think its clear something else is going on with them beyond just being mythical devil fruits, i think it might be Imu juicing them up to get extra powers out of their devil fruits. Since its implied the current Imu is the original one i wouldn't be surprised if Imu knows all the ins and outs of how devil fruits work and how to enhance them beyond what Vegapunk knows
