Nah, I guess not. Sorry for overreacting. I'm just sick of LGBT stuff in our country. Knowing that one of my favorite mangaka is warming up to Western activists bothers me, but it doesn't mean I can't enjoy One Piece.
Personally, I'm sick of threads derailing into complaining about LGBT people. Or black people. Or women and feminism. And let's not forget Jews.

This is not a culture war thread. Let's just enjoy this manga and anime together.

I still feel bad for Hawkins. I knew it wasn’t right for him to remain devoted to Kaido, and now he himself realizes it.

I'm sorry but I just had to
a manga in which
-there are no blacks (king and wyper don't count)
-all women look like nami (the money-grubber)
-one of the five elders looks like a rabbi
-oh, and a drag queen fingers trannies into existence

That's fair. My bad and again I'm sorry. I almost didn't want to comment on it, but I let my opinions get the best of me.

So I won't bring it up in this thread anymore. I won't bring up any IRL politics in this thread anymore.

It's not a good excuse, but I've been through some crazy shit today, so I'm feeling high strung.

All the same, I'm sorry for shitting up the One Piece thread with my politics.

I consider Mr. 5 and Miss Monday to be the closest things to Black characters.

There was also a dark-brown skinned woman civilian on Jaya. Big lips and all.

Don't forget that The Celestials are secretly Jews
I do wonder how the strawhats will fare against the admiral. Or if they'll fight him at all since he seemed to get along with Issho and wants change. We'll see how an admiral compares to a yonko.

Oda's not wrong.

Apparently, this post-Wano saga will be the last one. This makes me sad because One Piece is one of my favorite manga. It will be hard to fill the void in my heart when it's gone.
Yeah but Sagas are long. This one lasted since the end of 2015 and is still going. Even if one piece ends in 7 years Oda still built a huge world he can explore in small short stories. Like we don't know much about the 3 of the blues

I just want Yamato to be Best GIRL, goddammit!

That's true. All the same, it's been a fun ride and I will sincerely miss it. Despite my earlier sperging too.

As far as major plot points are concerned, it will be cool to see how Oda will cover the final Road Poneglyph that is said to be missing, the Straw Hats making their way to Lodestar Island then Laugh Tale, the aftermath of Kaido and Big Mom's defeat, and the Throne War mentioned by Doflamingo.

I completely forgot about Baroque Works. God damn it.

...though that's arguably worse since Mr. 5 is a black man whose power is to blow shit up and can fire a gun with his breath as ammo (and miss every shot) and Miss Monday looks more mannish than Gina Carano. (Was that Jaya one manga or anime?)
Wouldn't Black Beard be considered a black character? Oda did say his nationality IRL is Somalia.
A black pirate that has the power to become blacker oh god encyclopedia dramatica was right all along

I'm surprised that Kidd is being nice enough to let Apoo keep breathing air after betraying him.

I also need Oda stop being a dicktease and show those new bounties.

Maybe go look up the interview or statement Oda made about the characters and confirm that’s what he actually said. There’s been plenty of moments where someone mistranslated or took a comment out of context and just ran with the narrative.

Not saying that he didn’t say it, I’m just saying to look into it first before declaring all this. And I say this because I thought Bon Clay was a cross dresser, not transgender.

Looks like the new admiral will have some plant themed abilities which lines up with his earlier given code name.

Add Killer and Bepo to the giant robots fan club.

And Zoro's first coherent thought on waking (eat/drink are not thoughts for him) is "oh yeah, didn't I get permission to kill Sanji?"

Solid chapter.

Goro directing involving a stage. Kek.

Let's pls keep the tranny sperging out, it just gets in the way and we have 0 control over what Oda writes anyways.

Really intrigued by the CP0 scene. And I have a feeling that we're in for a twist when it comes to bounties, remember, no one actually witnessed the Nika transformation+fight in full except for the lone CP0 agent that was talking to the Gorosei, and it seems to me like the WG will probably keep Luffy a bit out of the spotlight to try and suppress the Nika news.

Izo and Ashura had something about their deaths that hinted permanent to me, glad to see Oda confirm that it's indeed the case.

A lot of ppl are complaining about how Kaido didn't take any lives, and well, that's the point imo, the entire point of his ending is that he's rendered into a footnote in history through entirely unknown means, the government doesn't even want to announce who did it and how they did it! Having Kaido kill anyone important before he goes is just another form of remembrance that he doesn't deserve.

Greenbull arriving is great too, it's about time we had a look at him, I predict his personality will be somewhere between Kizaru and Aokiji's, sort of like how Fujitora's was between Akainu's and Aokiji's.

And as always, cite the source. A  LOT of misconceptions and just general shit attitude in anime/manga discussion resulted from mistranslation or fake things being spread around faster and more widespread than Black Death

Welp, that sucks. That's also too bad because he previously confirmed that Yamato is indeed canonically a woman and Kiku is a man. So it seems he has jumped on it...

Honestly, that kind of ruins One Piece for me if he's going to pander to this shit now.
I thought Oda confirmed Kiku was female in SBS 96 when he said Kiku only bathed with men because she was very social as a child. It was after that the OP wiki started removing all references to her being a tranny and regulated them to the 'translation issues' section.

But it looks like Yamato is a full tranny since she thinks she can't bathe with Nami because there are no mixed baths.
I still feel bad for Hawkins. I knew it wasn’t right for him to remain devoted to Kaido, and now he himself realizes it.
I honestly hate that this is how he had to end up. He had my favorite design and devil fruit of all the rookie supernovas back in Sabaody and was hoping he'd be a more prominent player.

Bon Clay is a crossdresser. He throws "okama" around casually, the equivalent of which in English would be the casual throwing around of "queer", I think.

In Chapter 948, when the Akazaya Nine revealed themselves at Udon, one of the prisoners ID'd Kiku as a guy. She referred to herself as "a woman at heart". Her intro box listed her as Izo's little brother.

The SBS answer you're referring to was a question of whether or not Kiku bathed with the rest of the Akazaya Nine or on her own. Kiku being a tranny isn't touched upon because it isn't relevant to the story, just a character quirk.

And Yamato's just going even more full-tilt into the Oden larp, which I think is the whole joke behind that scene (see: Sanji, Brook, and Momo, who notably seems more flustered than you think he'd be)

I honestly hate that this is how he had to end up. He had my favorite design and devil fruit of all the rookie supernovas back in Sabaody and was hoping he'd be a more prominent player.
I'd be disappointed if he was shown to survive after that scene, but after re-reading it, I'm not going to hold my breath. ...though Oda DID say at one point he thought more of the Supernovas would've dropped out after the timeskip.
