Has there been any known motive that's come out as to why Toei got hacked? Outside of copyright strikes on YouTube being such a big deal, I can't think of anything, unless someone got worried about how Toei's going to be working with Sony on Dragon Ball Super and One Piece after FUNimation's brand death.

With the joyboy twist in mind, I could see Luffy flat out denying that he is Joyboy considering that is how he is as a person. Instead of acknowledging he is Joyboy, he will just continue being "Luffy, the man that will become the pirate king". That is part of what I like about Luffy as a character, his individuality. It could create a little bit of comedy where everyone tries to tell him he is the joyboy, but he aggressively refuses.

Also, I'm not particularly upset with the Joyboy twist, probably because there were many hints in the earlier parts of the manga, like that one chapter where they are dancing around a campfire, or Mihawk acknowledging Luffy's ability to "turn the people around him into his allies". There was a significant amount of buildup to him being something big.

Joyboy is Caribou

He was already in Wano prison and we just saw him save Luffy with his powers last chapter.

He's always smiling (Because he has great Joy) and is a revolutionary hero (like Joyboy).

Deal with it.

https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/th1199/can_we_put_a_stop_to_cosplayers_promoting_their/

The 10k upvotes alone tell me that a great chunk of people are fed up with thots trying to gain simps on a fucking One Piece sub.

I've seen people making the argument that "One Piece women are already sexualized!" in the comments. The problem with that, however, is that One Piece women are fictional. What a shame. I guess cosplayers taking advantage of anime character's proportions to garner easy simps is here to stay.

It's almost like people don't realize that the "sexualization" of One Piece characters became more apparent when Oda got married. While I wouldn't be surprised if his editor had encouraged it for more readership, methinks it's Oda's way of appreciating the female figure more, but also he put Nami in skimpier outfits because his wife's a cosplayer who portrayed Nami on the stageplay he oversaw, which is how they met. He wants her to look sexy because he's attracted to his wife. I think that's adorable.

He has also expressed rivalry with another anime (the title of which I cannot remember), because it’s his daughters’ favorite show over One Piece.
