It’s almost time to dive into the Spoiler mine.

Not yet though, Friday is still too early even for break week. Regardless, with the way publications work, the earliest spoilers could be out by Monday AM.

I just hope this arc (or “Act 3”) starts to wrap up before Goldenweek.
 
MY PIRATE KING DREAM IS COMING TRUE THIS WEEK

From Redon:

- Chapter 1041: “Komurasaki”.

- On the cover, Pudding hits Yonji and Niji for bullying Sanji.

- Momonosuke says that Oden ripped out the most important pages of his logbook, the ones about Laugh Tale.

-Orochi is trapped by the ceiling of the room where he was. Komurasaki reveals her true identity to Orochi.

- The boss of the CP0 receives new orders from the Gorousei: "Straw Hat Luffy" must be eliminated immediately.

- We briefly see what happens in other parts of Onigashima (Jinbe, Zoro, Nami, Usopp...).

- Kaidou remembers, in a small flashback, the first time he met Big Mom when he was 15 years old. "I am Linlin!! The woman who will become the king of the seas!!!"

- Luffy uses the Snakeman at the end of the chapter, and attacks Kaidou with a new technique called "Gomu Gomu no Hydra".

- Luffy: "I'm not going to stop attacking you until I run out of energy!!! I'm definitely going to kick you out of “Wanokuni”!!!!"

Kaidou remembers, in a small flashback, the first time he met Big Mom when he was 15 years old. "I am Linlin!! The woman who will become the king of the seas!!!"

Wow, you who avoid spoilers are probably doing a good thing, with all these hypes I now believe in silly ideas like “Evil Shanks” and diving deep into “True Names” of the Devil fruit.

I’m so glad I’ve been into this since the 4Kids Mess. It’s been a wild ride

Fuck, I didn’t expect to be so on board with how Raizo’s fight ended but here we are!
 
Oh boy was this a chapter beyond my obvious fangasm. This is going to be a Chapter for theories galore. I can’t wait for JBT, Official release, and much more!

- So this thing about the Gorosei putting an immediate hit on Luffy, I’ll say that this factoid has gotten me more interested than it has any right to. You know something. I’m the only One Piece fan who thinks Shanks has a Devil Fruit. But this “Evil Shanks” thing is a real skin crawl and I’m willing to forget all about Shanks needing a DF now.

- The scene of Hiyori crucifying Orochi with Sea Stone is absolutely beautiful Karma. It’s going to be great seeing this animated.

- And then there’s that flashback I 100% knew was coming. Oh sorry, did I not show that I had “Big Mom was Kaido’s mentor” on my Bingo Card? Guess what, it is possible for even me to keep a secret. There’s obviously more of the Flashback coming, but these three panels of Big Mom at 24 really did it.

Incidentally, some speculated that her face is similar to Yamato’s. For the record, I DO NOT endorse Linlin being Yamato’s Mother.

I have to disagree slightly. I don't think it even crawled up to 20% as Manly. But it's a pairing with no Straw Hat crew involved so reaching that with secondary cast is still impressive.

Of course I have to wonder what their equivalent of the bar scene will be. Laughing at Orochi's grave?

On topic for the chapter;

Hydra's an interesting name choice for a new attack. Maybe it's a translation oddity given Magellan used the same name but if not then I'm curious to see what it is compared to prior similar attacks. If it's just gattling in snakeman form that's dull but I'm wondering if it's going to be something actually hydra themed, where every punch somehow replicates. Given Kaido wondering where they are coming from it might be an attack that after every hit the blow bounces off then immediately bounces back in off nearby surfaces. If so we could see the inverse of Crocodile's defeat where Luffy's going to pummel Kaido out through the bottom of the already fairly battered building.

Or maybe it's in line with something inspired by Magellan's Hydra where it's doing internal damage via Haki infusion as a parallel to poison.

I'm torn on the first CP0 fight basically being a mutual loss. I don't think Izo taking one down is a bad outcome and it looks more like deciding to drop the CP0 member at the cost of going down too but they have had a lot of buildup for a very brief scene. Also many sympathies for the ever growing bullshit being stacked on their to-do list.

I do appreciate Zeus worrying about LinLin after her drop.

It could be whatever the fuck happened from the fallout of the Reverie turned up some info (probably whatever Wapol leaked to the press or the number of connections Luffy has and to who) that spooked the Five Elders into wanting Luffy wiped out before he has a chance to leave Wano. I don't know if it's the translation but they didn't specify "wait until the fight with Kaido finishes", something the CP0 agent balked at.

We've been getting Kaido flashbacks in bits and pieces, but not a whole thing yet. I bet that'll show up when Rocks becomes central to whatever's happening at the moment, a la the Law/Doflamingo flashback. And your bingo card thing was kind of implied in their interactions (their friendliness after reuniting and revealing their team-up, Big Mom flat out saying she still considers Kaido a little brother, their fight dynamic, etc) so it wasn't hard to infer.

And no, yeah she ain't related to Yamato. That's probably a design quirk (young Linlin looks more like Hina). They have similar eyebrows. And Ogres are probably the third missing species from Totto Land (otherwise the ogre kid would be there and not Onigashima).

Also met Eric Stuart. Proven by the James autograph. I tried to make him say “There once was a man named Gold Roger” but he couldn’t remember how he did it. He was still super nice though.

My guess for the end of this arc is that Luffy is still going to lose, and the castle still fell on the Capital. But Momo and the others managed to break the fall, and minimized the damage. Then as chaos ensues, Momonosuke will show his adult form that looks like Oden, and inspired the people of Wano to rise up against Kaido. Then Luffy wakes up and fight Kaido again, and won in front of all of Wano. That's my theory, if looking at how Oda usually make an arc's final battle
 
Yeah, looks like I'm right, Luffy is going unconscious only to wake up at the final fight in front of everyone. Just like always. RIP the CP0 agent though, Kaido is definitely going to kill him for interfering
