I mean in some ways it's not unreasonable. To a degree from her perspective it might feel like Roger was the wall none of the Emperors overcame before he went to the executioners' stand and from her perspective his death meant one of them would become the new Roger.

The idea that the newcomers would, in a much shorter space of time, get to the point that they could challenge the Emperors probably never crossed her mind until it started to happen.

There's also a nice irony that it's Roger basically stirring up the grandkids to claim the top spot before the generation before him can and Big Mam, she of the legion of offspring, is the one pissed about that
 
I just realized this would be the first Yonko defeated in the Post-Shirohige era. Remember the reaction scene of people around the world after Battle of Marineford? This would be bigger since two Yonko are going to defeated at once. Wonder how much everyone's bounty would go up

I doubt Luffy would even care. As long as he becomes King of the Pirates (as if there aren’t any preceding titles that come before, such as “Seven Warlord” or “Emperor” or even “Super Nova”)

Not just that, but Luffy is going to Beat Kaido Solo, that is going to shake the world to it's core, Someone beating a Yonko because it is a 2 on 1 fight is one thing..but someone defeating "The worlds strongest creature" in a 1 on 1 fight is going to make the entire world stop right then and there.

Remember how I have been saying that the Final Push for Laugh Tale is going to involve a world war because the balance of power in the world completely falls apart? Well Luffy Kid and Law are Destroying one of them, The World Government destroyed another by removing the 7 Warlords.

All that is left for everyone is to pick which side they are on now, Luffy, Blackbeard or The World Government.

Because if he had and they had a kid the World Government would have done something, remember they were willing to Start a War with Whitebeard because they found out Ace was Gol's kid.

Also do you really think Gol would have cheated on Rogue?

probably get yonkos bounty numbers plus a few billion more because they'll be more of a threat to the five elders than big mom and kaido were

Oh after the fight and Luffy claims all the gold on Laugh Tale he will look at Sabo and Vivi and be like "OKAY YOU TWO ARE IN CHARGE NOW BAI!" but I don't think he is going to have much say in the matter when the Grand Fleet, the people they have helped along the way and Sword show up and and say "WE ARE ON YOUR SIDE NOW KAY"

Luffy isn't going to choose the fight, but the fight is going to choose Luffy, largely because the World Government and Blackbeard are going to stand between Luffy and Laugh Tale. It is going to be kind of interesting, all the secrets of the world that we are curious about will be revealed..and the Main character likely won't give one shit about any of it.

This is the most likely result we will get, if thinga continues this way. The formation of Straw Hats Grand Fleet is a big sign the end battle is going to be clash between World Government and Strawhats+everyone that they helped along the way. I'm not surprised if some elements of the Marines would defect and joined him during the battle

I've been saying a 3 way war.

Strawhats (Including Allies they made along the way, Revolutionaries and Good Marines like Smoker and Sword).
Blackbeard Pirates (And whatever Evil pirates join him).
World government.

Blackbeard will ultimately be the Final Boss, but I very much see Luffy giving Imu a punch to the face akin to what he did in Shadabody afterwards before claiming One Piece.
 
@Honka Honka Burning Love The Three Great Powers (two of which are getting knocked out of commission like you said) are the Seven Warlords of the Sea, the Four Emperors, and... Navy Headquarters, which is not necessarily going to be on the same side as their handlers in Marijoa (at least as far as Akainu is concerned, if his anger with the Five Elders is anything to go on), so the World Government might end up fracturing at some point.

Oda did say back in 2019 that the One Piece would be found and the mystery revealed in 5 years (but not that the series would end). It's been about 2 and a half, and we may or may not be reaching the goddamn end of Wano, so corona-chan or no, that seems to be about right. It was also flat out stated (through Whitebeard's final speech) that once the treasure is found the worldwide war would kick off.

I think the question at that point is would anyone recognize Luffy as King of the Pirates (or care to) at that point?

I don't think so because of how the Great Balance of powers has worked, the moment one person goes for Lodestar Island with all 4 of the Road Glyphs the word moves, remember The World Government has an Eternal Prose to every Island and CP0 seems to have Agents in all of the major places of the new world so far, I imagine that how things will go is

Luffy gets the last Road Glyph (from Buggy, because it's Captain John's treasure)
Aniku hears of it through and Mobilizes everything
Blackbeard Cheats his way to it with information that he pulled from Xebbec, He does have Moria and it has been 2 years..Moria could very well be able to get shadows from the dead now.

Oda never said it would be Luffy who found it.
