This entire thing is going to be amazing Animated, Oden's over the top feats will be great to see animated, then Rodger in his prime..and this. As slow as Wano feels reading it week to week it is going to be fantastic as a sit down and read at once thing.
 
Oh man... what a chapter. Oden has basically cemented himself as one of the most badass, memorable characters in the series and his death ranks high up there with Dr. Hiriluk’s in terms of feels for me.

It’s always enjoyable reading a bloated arc twice over. Dressrosa and & WCI had so much going on it that it was easy to miss so many details. I can’t wait to have these volumes so I relax and enjoy them properly.

Lol dude, you're gonna be even more pissed off to find out that it was fully out and translated by 8pm central time last night when I read it all. They had the IMGUR link up on the sub but kept it in the 972 spoiler thread one cause they didn't want Viz sending the AEO after the sub again.


But for real this is going to be fucking AMAZING to watch the whole story of Oden when it gets animated
 
I've wondered since Wano really, but is it even possible for Toei to switch the anime over to seasonal now? Let's say there's two more big arcs in the series left, even just 26 episodes a year would really help get back to at least 1 chapter = 1 episode and maybe 1.5/1. Or just a nice filler arc like G8 was, where it doesn't even seem like filler would be nice.

I would like that, but I doubt it would ever happen The Anime has been running for 100s of episodes already so such a big change in how they do it is unlikely.

I read it yesterday morning...? It would've been at about noon central or whenever it shows I made that post. Unless you're talking about a different translation to what I read.

Anyways, the official version is out on Viz and Mangaplus. If they said there's no break then the next chapter's gonna leak or they're lying.

Ehhh I think with One Piece starting to get towards the End Game they are going to milk it for everything they can. Kind of a shame because the episode where Kaido and Luffy face off for the first time was drastically changed and didn't feel as cool as how it was depicted in the Manga.

Okay, I'm sure its gonna be real awesome and emotional on the screen, but thank God that whole flashback is over. The stuff with the Roger Pirates were great, but the final act took way too long to get through.

It's high time we get to the present and begin the operation. With all the time that's past, I hope Oda brings in some maps and location indicators for each character.

And Big Mom, I expect you to appear soon. Kids and all.

also we might actually have one more chapter (or half to 2/3 of one) of flashback showing Toki reciting her prophecy before we move back to the present and see the Akazaya Nine on their way to Onigashima

And by that point the third act might draw to a close, after which we get the updates on the outside world, and maybe find out if the WG fucked up Alabasta or not.

I hope these Elbaf theorists are proven wrong and that she ends up not being the main villain for that arc. Kaido needs more backstory since all we know is that “he’s that really strong guy with a Zoan motif who took over Wano”. I expect another flashback Lil’ Kaido getting discovered by Rocks and getting /ss/‘d by Big Mom.

When is everyone going to accept that there isnt gonna be time for a visit to Elbaf? I get that Luffy and Ussop want to see it, but unless some villain has taken over, they aren't going to actually go.

This train of thought annoys me just as much as the idea that Shanks doesn't have a Devil Fruit (yes, in the past he absolutely didnt, that I cant argue against)

I’d agree, but Oda dropped so many hints about a journey to Elbaf that it seems like it’s a good possibility. Oda never foreshadowed an island and not have the SHP visit. Case in point, we already know about the World Tree and Loki. Not only that, but we don’t know the layout of the island or any significant locations. Also it’s been like 60 years since we last saw it, so who’s to say that it hasn’t been occupied or has some sort of conflict that needs to be resolved? Maybe Oda will have Luffy encounter Shanks there or just have it be a quick “breather” arc like what Zou was. I just don’t think Big Mom will play any role.
 
It will be fine if Elbaf was shown in the Epilogue. Which Oda better damn well do.

But I don’t see them going to Elbaf just because they want to. Remember, when they first learned of the place, things weren’t going so rapid for them. Since Skypeia, they always wound up forced to go every place else since.

- they became forced to rescue Robin from Ennies Lobby. They weren’t forced to decide to go, but Luffy did so anyway.

- they were forced to stay in the Florian Triangle until they took care of Thriller Bark.

- Kuma forced them apart from each other at Sabaody.

- after Fishman Island was the only time they had a choice in how to handle the New. World. But they wound up on Punk Hazard and met Law, where basically everywhere else they’ve gone to up until Wano (and besides Whole Cake, where that was something different that also forced Luffy to go) is directly because Law allied with them.

My point is, there’s no time for Leisurely sightseeing.

The best thing Elbaf has going for it is Big Moms history. I think King Loki is gonna appear soon.
