Sooooooo, theory confirmed I guess. It does cheapen the sacrifice of the arm though. I liked how he had sacrificed it to make a point to Luffy. It makes sense too but it is not the same. I suppose finding Joy Boy made him be willing to part with his arm but still.

Except there was nothing to suggest Shanks had found Joy Boy. For all we know, Shanks was saving the Gum Gum fruit for Ace.

I always saw that as a sign of faith and love to Luffy. That he is worth losing an arm over. Wanting to get rid of it cheapens it somewhat. Still, it does not change the fact he loves Luffy but...

He would NOT kill Luffy over a DF. Not even this one. I saw it as Shanks seeing the fruit recognizing that Luffy is the reincarnation of Joy Boy. Shanks probably just respected the decision that Ace (despite his and Roger's wishes) was not Joy Boy. I doubt that Roger did not inform Shanks that the Nika fruit could choose is wielder. And I doubt Joy Boy did not inform Roger of this fact.

i guess we are going to have to wait for shanks lore time but i have a feeling the nika fruit really was meant for ace the whole time but luffy ended up eating it instead. but as a result shanks ended up getting freed. after the sea king too his arm.

speaking of which i wonder if the way to beat people who form a contract with imu is to just attack the mark on their body with strong haki that severs the connection to imu. similar to how joy boys haki was able to send all of the gorosei back through their portal and also hurt imu slightly.

also this whole time i thought harold had already eaten the devil fruit loki has and the reason why people hated him was because him having the fruit implies he killed harold and took it directly out of his stomach.

The Nika fruit can choose who it wants.

Good theory. I do think that the stronger contracts might have more power over their wielder. They can regenerate limps.

but being the spoiler is the thing that will let Luffy succeed where Ace would have failed.
Imu has had 900 years to prepare for "The destined one" he is not prepared for "The Retarded Adopted Brother"

I do think Shanks suspected that Luffy had it in him after the fruit chose him. I think he kind of agreed when the declaration was made and fully placed his faith in him.

I am feeling like the Shanks arm thing might be less of Shank’s 5000IQ Observation Haki and genuinely Luffy being a retard. I think it’ll be a happy accident where it was pure panic and removes the slavery brand.

The only way I can see these two things working together is by having it where Shanks was first motivated to save Luffy, and having his God's Knight control severed was an unexpected bonus.

I just finished Egghead using Pace and then switching to the manga. What a GOAT arc. Very refreshing after the absolute death marches that were Dressrossa, the second half of Whole Cake and worst of all Wano. If all of his arcs were paced like that he wouldn't have to rush through and combine stuff. On to Elbaf, I suppose.

So there are 8 years of Loki honest to god fucking around. My understanding is he got tied to the tree due to killing Harald. Is this correct or is it assumed it was from some other crime? So it sounds like Loki had been on the run for 8 years doing whatever

Where does Lola and Big mom fit in the chronology of this? It doesn't seem like it's before killing Harald since it would have been relevant before, but in the 8 year gap it seems weird that anybody would give a rats ass about a pact with Big Mom and using Loki in any political maneuver or even if it was true love from Loki, he'd be public enemy number 1 in Elbaf at that point.

Here's another thing about that-- Goldberg's shield is a homie, whom he said belonged to his father when taking part in an expedition to take down Big Mom. When exactly did the Elbaph giants decide to make a raid on Totto Land? Why did they decide to raid Totto Land? Who was in that party..?

Or is "cutting of the rot" so to speak the best way? And maybe that is a way to kill the elders? Find the weakpoint and destroy that? Haki alone probably won't be enough

it could be possible. i mean loki is not even in the same room currently so im wondering if he was even the one to kill harold seems more like shanks and gaban are the ones who are going to do it so far. my guess right now is either jarul is dedicated to the idea of a peaceful elbaf so much that he threw loki under the bus to avoid giants freaking out and looking for revenge or

everybody hates loki so much that even when jarul told them everything they just went "thats not true loki clearly tried to kill you with harolds sword before killing his own father and eating the devil fruit right out of his stomach like some form of demon he is the reason for all of our misfortunes and even tried to marry one of big moms daughters"
