Liking her design does not make her Straw Hat material. Honesltly, Carrot and to an extend Stussy (yes technically she does have espionage as her specialty and while Sanji and Robin are also good at it, she is better) have more to give to the crew. Lilith is just treading old ground by being a second machine person. She will propably be sent to the Revolutionary Army as they have use for a vengeful Vegapunk. All the intelect and expertise of the Stella but is presumed dead.

i used to think carrot was for sure going to be a straw hat especially after the stuff with pedro but honestly carrot would not really add much to the group. same goes for stussy. at this point i think the final straw hat is going to be either someone from the past like vivi or someone we have yet to meet. though if it is someone we do not even know yet i would be curious to see how their story makes them important enough to add so late into the story.

Sad to say I wasn't particularly attached to Atlas, so didn't feel much when she did a Japanese pilot. Interesting that Clover was a D and now I'm wondering who this brother was. Aside from that, seems like they are finally escaping. Emmeth has been pretty ineffective as of now, though it's teasing the dreaded manga "should I use THAT!!" which I assume will be another self destruct that will nuke the Gorosei enough to keep them off everybody's back. Nice enough chapter, but still want moar.

I remember it being either smiling, or not having any fear of their imminent death, be it through peace or defiance. I’d say that they’re similar enough to say either could be true.

As for Vivi, I remember that when word got out she was missing, Zoro said not to go looking for her.

So the way I can see Vivi coming back is that she gets captured by the world government, brought to Imu, and Luffy (now with pirate king status) goes to Mariejois to rescue her.

I also can’t think of any other reasons the SHs would bring on a permanent member before the endgame happens. If any new crew comes along, it’s because they’re following Joy Boy Pirate King Ultra Instinct Luffy into the final battle to determine the fate of the world.

Paulie was a red herring. He was introduced with a distinct fighting style, great expertise in a necessary position, reason to live the island and bonded with the SHs. After Frankie fought Fukuro, it was obvious he would be the new member but before that, you could make an arguement for either.

That’s another one I can see being possible. My main thinking of the previous names was because those rolled of the tongue really nicely when you consider Luffy’s full name.

I believe it was said D was said to have a lot of significance that’s lost on the people with it. I guess it makes sense we only learn of the significance of it when Luffy does (even if it doesn’t get through his head, considering it’s so thick and Luffy can be really dense).

The issue for me is that none of these words roll on the toungue nicely if youjwere to use it in between any of the D. clan member's name. Monkey Dawn luffy sounds wierd, the same with the others..

but at the same time wano is absolutely fucked without her. especially if someone like kaido or green bull were to show up again. so i do not see her showing up till the very end or maybe they do a nice end thing where luffy takes all the people he promised to come back and visit out to sea with him.

personally i could see sabo joining the straw hats since i have a feeling the RA is going to fall apart once dragon decides to start actually doing things. plus it would be fitting in a way if sabo was there to see luffy achieve his dream.

And like said here, it seemed to be pretty much on purpose. Once we shift from Water 7 to Eines Lobby it's clear franky is the man. But I could definitely see why people were all in on Paulie.

My guess is that Wano will build a navy and join as the 8th crew while the Kuja will join as the 9th.

After Green Bull 's stupid, little escapade, Wano cannot possibly not start building an army and a navy. Maybe have some reformed Gifters, Pleasurers and Waiters join in too and provide their experience in naval combat.

As for the Kuja, their recent experience with Blackbeard and the Seraphim propably shook them. An alliance with a really friendly emperor is an amazing opportunity. Plus, Hancock 's delusion about marriage to Luffy is very beneficial in this regard. Elder Nyon might not want to involve Luffy in this (or entertain madness of the idiot for an empress) but with the future of their people at stake, she might not have much of a choice. Gift horses and their dental health.

It’s probably because I’m doing straight English and something got lost in translation. Again, I’m assuming that it’s one of those endgame things where you’re not meant to make sense of it until Luffy does.

Because the story doesn’t flex that Luffy has a fleet compared to the subdivisions and ships of Blackbeard and Whitebeard. By comparison, Luffy is still a small fry even as an agent of chaos.

It may be where @Incecticyder shapes it and it’s only in the endgame where the full extent of Luffy’s power and influence is realized.

I still am of the opinion that Blackbeard and The WG will roll up with their forces as everyone races to Laugh Tale and Nami/Usopp will be freaking out..then Robin points out "Well I think they are here to help us" Cut to Straw Hat Grand Fleet..with Water Seven at it's head and EVERYONE showing up to be their army.

There is NO FUCKING WAY that Iceberg saying he was going to make Water Seven mobile was just an offhanded comment that won't return.
