On the one hand, every Strawhat crew member has received worse injuries and survived.
On the other hand, has any character survived after being given tearful flashback panels?

Clima-tact Zeus will be a fun change for Nami.

Sanji getting paired with Queen finally, perhaps Perospero and Chopper fight

If Kid/Killer and Law team up for Big Mom, I would think that means Luffy/Zoro/Yamato for Kaido, unless Yamato is just used as placeholder until Luffy and Zoro get back, or Zoro switches in for Marco against King.

No break next week makes the chapter better. I'd like to get back to Robin/Brook/Black Maria and see a complete W on the board for the Straw Hats.

On an unrelated note, I hope Oda does what the JoJo writer did and releases a book on his writing process one day.

Praying for Kin and Kiku to pull through. Kanjuro can rot, though.

Anyway, I kind of thought Yasuie was a bit too old to be Toko's biological father. Of course, blood relations have never been the sole definition of family in One Piece.

I don't think Luffy is Joy Boy reincarnated.

I think that was Ace, and "Fate" is now fucked because Ace chose to die saving Luffy.

Of course Luffy doesn't give one Straw Hatted fuck about ANY Of that shit and has an instinctive knowledge of what sort of story he is in and will PUNCH THE FUCK OUT OF THE BADGUY because that will solve everything.

Well in other news, I took a break from Dressrosa dub for a week. Stopped at the aforementioned segment where the Toy Curse is broken and Doffy declares the Bird cage.

And let me tell you, it’s about goddamn time Doffy starts speaking like a real evil bitch. Incredible inflections coming out my tv right now.

And I don’t give a rats ass about other peoples opinion of the dub. I treat English One Piece like a soap opera in my house.

I can watch things like Super Sentai with Japanese dialogue, but I need English relatable voices to know what’s really going on in One Piece.

Honestly, I like Doffy's dub voice. It was one of the things that made transitioning over to subs once I caught up so sad for me, because his Japanese voice doesn't feel like it fits. Getting used to it was hard.

So to hear he lives up to it in an arc where his villainous side shines the brightest pleases me.
 
Last night the Dub finally revealed something I’ve been waiting for: How to properly pronounce the Title “Corazon”

And I tell you, I’d much rather think of Rocinante as “Cora-Zone” and not “Cora-Zaan.”

This is what I’ve been waiting for. To finally understand why it was necessary to betray his own brother. In English words and relatable inflections, I’m finally going to understand.

Cora-san was a nickname for Corazon, not a mispronunciation.

Was Chris Rager seriously the closest-sounding replacement they could find? Cole Brown managed to straddle the line of having the tone of your typical cut-throat pirate with the voice of your granddad reiterating you his tall tales after supper while picking his teeth. Rager just went "Yarrr, this here be my pirate voice!" and that's it.
*sigh*
