They thankfully made it so that you don't have to know shit about the story. You can just dive right in.
 
I usually don't pay any attention to games based off of animes but this looks pretty good.

Also pre-time skip nico is best nico

If it's an honest to god good One Piece game, it goes to the front of my queue. But till it's out and the dust settles, I'm not getting any hopes up.
 
It sorta bothers me the licensed games once again go for the Fisherman Island outfits whereas Unlimited Adventure & Unlimited Cruise had original costumes for the whole cast at least. Both titles plus Pirate Warriors 3 are the holy trinity of One Piece games.
 
It does seem like they introduced some interesting mechanics, but I've never been a One Piece fan.

I'm just hoping for swappable costumes. Those are always fun little extras to go looking to unlock all the costumes.
 
IMO One Piece games have historically been varying degrees of mediocre with a few decent ones here and there.
I think this is the first time they're tackling an RPG so that has me curious but I'll still wait a bit for reviews and impressions.
But just on a first impression basis it looks promising.
 
The reviews are starting to trickle out and they seem mostly positive, the meteacritic is at 76 for what that's worth.

Seeing a lot of comparisons to Dragon Quest.
 
Well, i don't know.
One of my friends which is a big fan of OP sometimes buys one of those games.
Probably he gonna try this one.

Picked it up. I've never paid attention to One Piece and know next to nothing about it, but grabbed it as a turn based RPG fan. Really enjoying the characters and locations, but it's a little slow, and the difficulty is absolutely brain dead easy. I can't imagine actually getting party wiped in this game. PC players have created a difficulty balance mod, but I'm stuck on PS5.
