The BC Government has been collecting vaccination information on their Health Gateway system. It will probably be linked to that, not the little cardboard card. If you want the cardboard card, whatever, there's millions around you could copy.

It's not as simple as that though.
There are multiple databases in BC and each province have regional authorities that run their own databases. That is not shared by default. They are not legally allowed to share that info without signed permission
If you go to a Hospital in BC and your records are in Alberta, you have to sign a release.
It's not like CPIC (Canadian Police Information Centre) that Police have access to on their computers. That's Federal. An arrest/stop in Tofino is visible to a cop in Halifax.
Throw in tourists and people who work/travel in other countries and were vaccinated outside of Canada and it gets even more complicated.
What they are doing here is trying to allow access to GLOBAL health records. Not just Canada.
Downtown Vancouver is probably close to 50% foreigners walking around.
Gastown is full to the brim with students from all over the planet. I hear Spanish and Portuguese just as much as English when I'm there because of the English schools.
Then of course there's the alcohol factor. What do you think is going to happen on a Friday/Saturday night when bars and restaurants are expected to check vaccine cards and ID at doors when a bunch of jacked up bro's show up?
The media was going on about strip clubs requiring them, but they aren't actually doing it. That was just a stunt to get free advertising. Number 5 Orange isn't checking. Neither is the ones in Toronto. I checked.
I can't find the link, but apparently Police in an Asian country are now accessing Vaccine records and Covid tracking apps to do criminal investigations. That blew up in the media and the Police gave a pinky swear that they'd only do it for "Serious" crimes.
Once the border with the USA opens, you are going to have a lot of people who aren't going to be fond of having to show their papers to eat a burger and add that to people from countries where the government and police are not trusted by default.
I listened in on a conversations of a large group of VPD last week when I went to the Vancouver Art Gallery for a protest.
They were all against it. VPD refused to respond to calls over mask disputes unless there was violence of destruction of property.
Business owners who insist on enforcing this are going to be on their own.

We’re barely a week into the Canadian federal election cycle and the misinfo and narrative warfare is in full swing.
On Monday Deputy PM Chrystia Freeland got her wrist slapped by Twitter when she posted a video of Erin O’Toole edited to make it sound like the Conservative leader was campaigning to kill one of Canada’s sacred cows: universal healthcare.
No sane politician in Canada would ever do that.
What O’Toole actually said in the video (but was cut from the one Freeland posted) was that “universal access remains paramount.” Under the Conservative plan, private health care providers would also be allowed to operate. While I personally won’t be voting Conservative, that is something I’ve been in favour of for a long time. Not only would it give Canadians freedom of choice in how they direct their own healthcare, but it would also alleviate pressure on the public system.
Today a picture of a door hanger ostensibly delivered to households in Guelph, Ontario began circulating on social media. It appears to have originated in a post on the /r/Ontario reddit (it has since been removed because election material of any kind is against sub-reddit rules). BlogTO picked up the story.
Personally I think it smells like astroturf, I’ve yet to see anybody else saying they too received one of these, although somebody on Twitter did post a door hanger they received which contained no spelling errors.

As funny as Ant-Corrupton cleaning up Otawa sounds I call horseshit on those hangers being real. Spelling aside it reads like someone's idiot son wrote everything for a social studies project. "This is Erin O'Toole" is not a sentence you'd ever see on a major political party print or anything remotely professional. There's no disclaimer on the hanger indicating who paid for it either or where it came from (which is a violation of the election laws I'm pretty sure). I'm sure there's a lot more inconsistencies with it that just scream fake but this is some poorly executed astro-turfing.

More like being drunk is a mitigating circumstance that may result in a person's sentence including treatment/counseling in lieu of prison time, for very minor assault crimes, particularly on a first offense.
This is the country that will charge you with simple assault for:
1. Yelling at someone who can't easily retreat;
2. Pushing someone;
3. Banging a hand on the wall close to someone;
4. Sending a threatening text.
I have seen every one of those examples result in a negotiated guilty plea that includes substance counseling and anger management in lieu of incarceration. Of course it REALLY helps if the complainant is a white woman, otherwise things are less cut and dried.

You know what's hilarious? Growing up during the Bush Administration, I always thought Canada was better than the USA because at least they're not fighting unwinnable wars. Socially though? God DAMN, I have more in common with the people who live on the Atlantic side or the people who live in Alberta than I do with the Toronto/Ottawa/Quebecois/British Columbian liberals that destroyed what made Canada so cool in the first place.

I would be fine with a reduced Liberal minority, assuming that the NDP and Bloc Quebecois flip a few Liberal ridings. Anything to punish Sock Boy for his hubris. Kumar and Kimberlina are mainlining a backbone infrastructure for the Vaccine Passport. They've already engaged in fraud to push their "solution" to Federal/Provincial government.

It looks like the Quebec QR code has been hacked already LMAO. It makes sense governments are known to have poor security when it comes to their data. How can the government keep this up? The video seems pretty legit. QR codes aren't the most "secure" of the barcode family. Given that the app in the video is a test app it will be interesting what the government will put out.
