alright here's some nightmare fuel for y'all in case you are somehow able to sleep:

The election results in a 269-269 electoral college tie or some disputed result that gets kicked to congress to resolve. Congress does this by:

A) having a vote by state delegation in the House for who won the presidential election. This is going to be deadlocked, nobody will wind up with 26 states (trust me on this, it's a pain in the ass to figure out)
B) voting in the senate for who won the vice-presidential election, with the sitting VP unable to break ties for this question alone. So if we wind up with a 50-50 tie, this could also fail to generate a winner.
C) If all else fails, on January 20th the sitting President and VP are gone, and we wind up with the Speaker of the House as acting President. That's Nancy Pelosi.

Shit's going to be absolutely wild in the streets in December & January if it looks like this scenario has even a chance of actually happening. So like, yeah. Good luck and stay safe everyone. Regardless of what happens tonight, I'm happy as long as this ain't it.
