I lost all hope in Canada many years ago when convicted serial killer and child rapist Karla Homolka was let out of jail early for a plea bargain because local cops were too lazy to cut into drywall around the bathroom ceiling fan where stashed tapes were found of her and boyfriend Paul Bernardo raping and murdering underage girls including Karla's sister. The story doesn't end there, years later after she was granted parole she was found volunteering at a school taking children out on a field trip.

How about the fact that any federal election can be carried by winning the bulk of Ontario and Quebec, and requires no particular effort outside those areas, permitting federal parties to continue to pander to the 2 largest populations, while ignoring everyone else in Confederation?

I love that Canucks try to act all smug and superior to the states when nothing of genuine merit has ever came from it other than resources that other, more innovative countries exploit. Seems to be that if you are dirt poor, Canada is better to be in but if your anywhere approaching middle class and up its USA all the way.

Another one is Charles Ng, he and Leonard Lake raped, tortured, and murdered almost a dozen people at their base in the Sierras.
Lake committed suicide when they were caught, Ng fled to Canada and was arrested and sent to prison for shoplifting.
California had to promise he wouldn't get the DP before Canada would release him to the US.
He and Lake were horrible creatures, and many people here were pissed that California gave in to Canada's demands.

There are very few stories that make me as angry as this one. Li cut off Tim McLean’s head and cannibalized his corpse while the rest of the passengers escaped from the bus in horror. One of the first cops on the scene, Ken Barker, later killed himself. He had been living with severe PTSD since the incident.
Li was allowed to change his name and now lives a completely anonymous life somewhere in Canada. There are no legal nor medical restrictions on him. He’s not even required to treat his schizophrenia. He was released with the assumption of “Well he seems okay now, eh?”
Another horror story from Canuckistan is Adam Laboucan. At age 15 Laboucan tortured and raped a three month old baby boy. The infant suffered lifelong disabilities cause by the assault. After his conviction Adam became the youngest person classified as a “dangerous offender” in Canada at that time. Prior to maiming the baby boy, Adam, at age 11, had murdered a three year old child. He was considered too young to face murder charges and nothing was filed.
Since being incarcerated, Adam has taken advantage of Canada’s national health system by getting himself a pair of double d breasts. Yes Adam, like many a degenerate, unwrapped himself the golden ticket— he trooned out. Adam changed his name to Tara DeSousa and was transferring to a women’s prison facility. He’s been denied parole for multiple assaults on both female staff and inmates.

Look, no offense, but we don't have a good reason to annex our hat and fix your shit.
We might buy the northernmost 3 provinces you got (Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut) for the resources and strategic position, but if the package deal includes all the institutions in between... might not be worth the tradeoff.
