Disaster Notre Dame cathedral burns down - Suspicious hunchbacked individual reported to have fled the scene

A fire has broken out at the world-famous Notre Dame cathedral in Paris.

Pictures posted on social media showed enormous plumes of smoke billowing into the city's skyline as firefighters rushed to the historic site.

According to French newspaper Le Monde, the fire broke out in the attic of the historic monument before spreading to engulf a large section of the roof.

A spokesperson for the cathedral said the blaze was first reported at 5.50pm (GMT) and the building was evacuated soon after.

Officials in Paris said the fire could be linked to renovation works being carried out at the cathedral.

The cathedral is one the finest example of French Gothic architecture in Europe, and one of the most visited buildings in the world.

Notre Dame - which means 'Our Lady' - was build in 1160 and completed by 1260, and has been modified on a number of occasions throughout the century.

It is the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Paris, and is visited by some 12million people every year.

A statement released by Macron's office indicates that this was a controlled burn and demolition. Notre Dame Cathedral will be replaced by the Notre Dame Mosque in 2029 which was paid for heavily by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emarites. Macron will soon release a statement that the "French have no culture" and the Cathedral represented "The bloody past of the crusade, not the diversity of today." He will say he applauds the efforts and the new Notre Dame Mosque will be lead by Imam Ibin Al-Ihmin, a French National who joined ISIS in 2011 and operated a human trafficking ring around the Middle East and Africa, selling vulnerable religious and ethnic minorities.

Macron praises Ihmin's preaching style as "Bold" and "Revolutionary", as he preaches the way through peace by outbreeding the French instead of killing them, which will only occur when whites are a minority. Macron said that "Whiteness is not something that should be celebrated, but discarded. The future is multi-cultural." There is currently no comment from Macron about the mysterious 1.5 billion dollars that suddenly appeared in his Swiss bank account, but his aides say it was based on "Recent foreign investments that have paid dividends."

I'm surprised the cathedral took "only" 100 years to build. I thought they took longer.

Anyway this is not good news to wake up to.

Even if you’re not Catholic, Notre Dame is an architectural wonder and an icon. Hearing it being destroyed is an awful blow.

I really hope it’s just a terrible accident and not arson.

In all seriousness, this isn't good. The one reason I would ever consider visiting a metropolitan globalized shitpit like Paris and it's fucking burning...

If you put the timeline of the earth on a yearly scale with the formation of earth being midnight January 1 and today being December 31 11.59pm, Homo Sapiens appeared December 31 11.20pm.

What worries me is that at least one person involved in fighting the blaze probably thinks it'd be better to let it burn down and be replaced with a mosque.
 
Where's the fire department? I'm watching a livestream, and while I occasionally hear sirens, I don't see any fire trucks. What's taking them so long?

Oh god, the spire's completely engulfed.

There's a lot of them you can't really see it on the video but there's over 20-25 trucks, and the fire is on the south side mostly it's not easily accessible it's right next to the river
