My decision to completely ignore Devolver after they publically fired that one guy for being right wing on twitter pays off again.
"Nooo! You don't get it! We're the quirky little guys that act just the same as a *real* shitty games publisher!"
Giving everyone the ability to make video games was a mistake. It can be good under the right circumstances, just look at games like pizza tower. That also means though that any retard with a computer can make a video game, which is a problem. So now you get all these quirky, artsy, “Muh mental illness” “games” that get pumped out. Truly even in its shit state, AAA releases less goyslop than indie. Mostly because of japan though.
The problem is you are relying on the same fuckers you hate to curate your indies for you. Don't. Do that yourself or look at people who's tastes match yours.
Who the fuck are those no-name devs? Who the fuck is funding this? How much is it worth to fight the noise-to-signal ratio when it comes to big events like this?
It's kind of strange seeing the disconnection between actual indie games driving the industry forward and "indie" "devs" making slop nobody fucking wants. It's frightening seeing how many interesting indie (and AA) games are released every year yet in those big events all we see are introspective gamemaker-tier bullshit about depression and muh mentals that we all know are going to flop hard and be ignored by everybody that isn't directly involved with the devs. Even sequels to hugely successful indie games are completely ignored in favor of yet another Mother clone but with non-binary characters this time, or a Harvest Moon-inspired game about Dunning-Kruger that's completely moot after something like Stardew Valley has completely cornered the market anyway.
I personally feel like the indie scene is healthier than ever, and every time that a big event like this hits the spotlight only the faggiest, most insufferable French-Canadian tales about gender dysphoria or personality disorders get a chance to shine, while future hits are absolutely absent, or indirectly mentioned at best. One would think that at some point publishers like Devolver, who own their current position to unforeseen hits would understand the huge divide of what people want and and what it's "hip" to announce on Twitter, but alas. Even the Oscars are less transparent than this horseshit at this point.
I only know that I won't ever run out of interesting games to play, but I'm sure as fuck won't find about them in those pathetic nepotistic events that everyone wants me to watch. I miss the old E3 where I could laugh my ass off at some out-of-touch big corporation doing something stupid and expensive out of desperation instead of listening to one liberal art major after another talking about their next steam game with a 12 player count peak for ten fucking minutes.
The problem is you are relying on the same fuckers you hate to curate your indies for you. Don't. Do that yourself or look at people who's tastes match yours.
Partially true, but a lot of what's promoted is the same flavor of shit people are complaining about in AAA. You can find good stuff for sure, but it's tiresome to see this slop at these events.

Unfortunately for my already eroded sanity, they do have a separate wah-myn only Summer Games Fest presentation tomorrow afternoon...
God, I want to glass LA so fucking bad...as if dumb bints didn't have enough time to talk about their horseshit during the main show, they just have to have their cake and eat it too!
Now that AI has been released and uses all those cores that were meant for real time ray tracing gaming is basically dead. GPUs will be used for everything besides gaming.
The only game I somewhat cared about got a one minute trailer revealing absolutely nothing. I wouldn't have even known what it was a trailer for if I hadn't spotted the wreckage an enemy from the previous game.
What you don't understand is that these soydevs don't want to make good products. They want to make agitprop. Look at the amount of french indieshit games funded by the CNC (part of France's Ministry of Culture).
We are so back! Hopefully it comes to Switch and Steam in addition to PlayStation and XBOX this time. Also hoping for some new content, even if it is just a remaster. Maybe RebelTaxi will finally get his Raven skin requested all the way back in 2012, assuming Warner is still attatched.
