I just got it and dicked around for an hour collecting shit. I had no idea what I was doing and the first time I got attacked by drones, I hid in my ship in the hopes they’d go away.

They did not.

Why don't people just play Space Engineers? It's on Steam for like 15 bucks and it the same game.

Nevermind, SE actually lets you do things.

I already do. Not met any aliens, conducted trade or translated languages in it yet, though. That said, I have yet to build a gravity gun in NMS.

And you never will.

The physics system was just one of the ninety percent of the features jettisoned from the game to make the August release date.

How many more of these borderline scams have to flop before people stop acting like Indi titles will save the gaming industry?

Eh, fair enough. I didn't bother with the pre-release hype all that much, I just knew that it was a procedurally generated space exploration game, and figured I'd give it a shot. So far, I've enjoyed it. Until someone releases a game that successfully combines the contents of Elite Dangerous, Space Engineers and No Man's Sky, I'll happily continue playing the three of them separately.

It's fun, and ran fine on my computer until my waifu broke it because she's dumb. Give them time to patch it up before y'all spergout. Ports from a console to a PC are often shitty at first, and then they get patched. This is common for AAA games, not to mention a game with such a small staff.

I don't even care about the hype vs reality. For me it's the fact the Dev flat out lied about what mechanics there are and sold it as a $60 AAA game instead of the $10 indi game it is.
Me neither.

If this was released in similar fashion to Minecraft rather than Murray spending years hyping features he had to jettison, then outright lying until the day of release so he wouldn't have to risk his own momentary discomfort and tell the fucking truth to people who actually pay him money, I'd be happy to buy the game.

As it stands, the only way I'd full-price it now would be via a complementery bicycle-chain whipping to Sean Murray's teeth for every moment of Clintonian bullshit-ese he stumbl'd and mutter'd out to those brainless hipster cunts with microphones known in some circles as journos.

I don't know why, but steam games are much cheaper in other regions such as Russia and China. I usually only pay half price for games. I got NMS for about $25
Ruskies and Chinamen, even the ones who can actually afford good computers, are a lot brok'er than their counterparts in North America, Western Europe, and -- capitalist -- Southeast Asia. It's a miracle of Generosity that they ever play anything that isn't pirated.

It's comfy, and I kinda like it, but if you gave $60 for it, you were scammed.
Agreed. It's a good game, but it's not some grand epic that you can spend 100s of hours on, nor will it "change the industry" like some people said it would.

It's a fun little exploration game, although there's not much more to it than that. You just kind of roam around looking at cool stuff, occasionally going "huh, that was kind of neat". It's a fun game (albeit, not one I'd play for long periods of time) but it's definitely not worth 60$, and it's definitely not for everyone.

Not to powerlevel but I probably make more money than you (but not as much as @KatsuKitty)
