Is three houses worth playing as my first fire emblem game? a friend told me to start with one of the gba games but if it doesnt matter I would rather start with one I could get on the switch if possible.
Meanwhile I think you should probably play Fire Emblem: Fates first. Though Three Houses is a fine place to start as well. You'll have some baller-ass tea parties.

Or you can make the right choice and play Advance Wars. There's a remaster coming out soon. Advance Wars/Famicom Wars was always the better series FIGHT ME FAGGOTS.

No. Echoes: shadows of Valentia is and that was the last 3ds game,
That's probably a decent start since it's also one of the cheaper ones. You need to take a loan out and surrender some organs to play the Gamecube or Wii ones. I thought 3 houses was a bit too middle of the road, it really didn't push the series forward but it also didn't gyp you out of a complete experience like Fates did.

I mean if you really want a high end SRPG that raises the bar of the genre and is very good, that's Divinity Original Sin 2.

So remember how we were talking about fan projects getting DMCA'd?

I think I found something that hardly anyone would miss.

Granted, it's one of the many examples of trash that's on the Appstore, but it's an example of what people do, nowadays.
Fun fact: it’s completely legal too.
Its not infringing on an IP like a fangame would.

we still need a sequel to days of ruin. That map editor is still one of the best 2D map editors ive ever used and doesnt require a summoning ritual to just place a few units and buildings and let the ai duke it out for hours in any remotely well designed map.

I dont think the switch version of the inferior mainline advance wars series even has a map editor and the units get replaced 1 or 2 at a time per game. There was no stealth bomber in days of ruin but there was a war tank and new naval units.

I was looking into getting 3H for the rpg elements since no other title really went that in depth with character interaction beyond what you see with some blurbs of text on screen, a changing letter, and maybe a brief change of wardrobe wedding depending on the characters and title.

3H looks like character choices actually mattered somewhat.

The use of Nintendo sound assets says otherwise, just like Flappy bird's us of the pipes.

I wonder what their excuse is for not adding them yet when the Wii had Super Mario 64 on day one.

Can't be the "difficulty" of adding save states when the Wii U (and emulation in general) had that feature.
Why didnt they have bluetooth audio support on day 1?

Echoes is my favorite in the series, but I'm not sure if it would be a great starting point. It has a lot of weird mechanics compared to other games in the series.

OTOH, Silque. HNNG!
The wierd mechanics dont really get in the way of anything and has some of the best character redesigns in the series.

The Thabes labrynth has not been topped with its “ancient enemy”atmosphere in the franchise ever since despite the endgame being short.

3H was more about autistic slapfights and infighting than fighting an actual threat to the continent, though that arc is buried in there somewhere despite being rushed out the door.

Their excuse will be "we have chosen not to" and their reason will privately be that giving true classics away for free devalues them in a literal sense- it means people won't be willing to go back to paying five dollars for downloads of them. Honestly I am shocked we have either NES or SNES.
