I feel like they would hold off on Smash. They already have Mario Kart and presumably a 3D Mario. No need to have Smash eat up their attention.

Smash feels like a next year showcase at earliest. Something to guarantee a high 2nd year once the other heavy hitter, Mario Kart, has begun to run its course.

I am weirdly feeling a new Kirby as well. The series is fairly consistent about releases so it feels like it is time for hopefully a Forgotten Lands sequel. Only issue is that Kirby would be a second 3D platformer if we are to believe Mario will get one.

Maybe another bold prediction, but it has been awhile since we have seen Next Level Games. Maybe a potential Luigi’s Mansion?
I think Smash is for one of the next two years too. Companies play stuff closer their chest these days, if its not a 2025 game don't expect it to show up.

I would hope after sticking with the old switch this long, they'd have a long headstart on getting big games out by christmas for switch 2. As in, I don't want to wait 3-4 years for animal crossing. Besides that, I really just want MH wilds and Fortnite. Maybe a new pokemon mystery dungeon.

I think games are gonna roll in a lot sooner than people expect, especially if the rumors the switch 2 got delayed a year are true. Remember, Ultimate released in 2018. It's not unreasonable to expect another smash game so soon, nearly twice as long as the wait between 4 and ultimate. I remember how people thought Ultimate was a port for the longest time because there was only 4 years between 4 and ultimate.

ultimate was already halfway made with 4, it uses the same groundwork and models.

Alright, one more hour until the stream. Anyone got any last minute longshot predictions they wanna throw out there?
Edit: Also Nintendo Today is trolling, the final announcement animation is of the c button being pressed. I hope this button is fucking nothing because that would be hilarious.

It probably stands for "Community". Nintendo Switch doesn't link to Twitter anymore, so having their own social media thing would be the next logical step.

Nintendogs with the mouse.

Alternate crazy prediction. Shigeru Miyamoto, who never had chicken pox, has to skip the presentation because he has a life threatening case of adult chicken pox, he'll be dead within ten days. He has also unfortunately given the disease to 70 percent of NCL employees over the age of 60, most of whom will also soon be dead. Don't worry. One of his children, untrained in game design, has promised to continue his legacy by taking direct control of his franchises and ushering them into the modern day the only way possible, by teaming up with Japanese mobile developer DENA to....

And for what its worth, in an era where literally everything leaks out I commend Nintendo on, seemingly, keeping all actual game news underwraps. We really have had nothing (aside from probable Switch 1 stuff like the FE remake and the possible GCN on NSO stuff that is really more system than game,) virtually unheard of in the modern era. And though we can pretty much pencil in a lot of what will be shown just by who has and hasn't released a game recently its still neat to not know what any of it is. Even Mario Kart, which we were given footage of two months ago, its not like we know the name or gimmick...

Lets all step into the new era together. Still six minutes left if any of you want to take a quick shit before the dawn of a new age.
