This. Switch is their best selling console of all time and this is what they put out, a pre rendered trailer with fucking mario kart. Bravo.

Looks like a bigger, more powerful Switch. I thought that Mario Kart footage was just 8 Deluxe. I'm surprised of the "certain Switch titles will not be BC" if the Switch 2 will have detectable JoyCons like its predecessor. So it'll be software based like the Xbox One.
I'm not a fan of platformers; what games would exist for the Switch that interest me? Besides Mario Kart, Splatoon and Bayonetta? I was holding off on the Switch since it's reaching end of life.

Anyone excited for this shit is retarded. When Switch 1 came out, there wasn't 400 different handheld gaming PC's, it was a market needing a product. That isn't the case anymore, and Nintendo are some of the biggest niggerfaggots in the industry who don't deserve a cent of support. for the better honestly, rumor has it that one of Microsoft's new consoles are going to be a handheld and the other one a sort of Series X2, in this modern gaming world a console is just a gateway into video games, devices for non-PC Gaming normies pretty much, me personally im keeping my 3060 rig until it doesnt work anymore, then ill think about what im going to replace it with, all 3 companies have pretty much given up on the idea that hardware sales are important

The switch version of DaS also has some awful audio quality (due to compression iirc). So even with a resolution and fps patch, it would still be a borked version.
It's criminal that the best version of this goat game can't even be purchased anymore, and that even though it's the best, it still fucking sucks in many ways.

You get a switch mostly for the exclusives tbf, but depending on the company we could get some great imrpovement patches, the nier port on the og switch isnt bad at all, but with a patch it could easily run at 60fps with a better resolution on the switch 2 for example, same with something like witcher 3, not a bad port, could easily be improved.
The switch 1 and 2 had the advantages of using nvidias api, which many many devs are already extremely familiar and good at using, while the other consoles use amds which has a somewhat subpar api compararibely. Thats one of the reasons we saw so many "impossible" ports most likely

I'm excited, relatively speaking. I've never owned a Nintendo console since the Wii. Maybe Nintendo has their shit together to revive the gaming industry. Of course, I'll just wait and see.

You're honestly not missing mush outside of a few 1st parties and even then the WiiU has been outclassed by the switch for some time now. In fact you'd have a better time with their handhelds, and with that you can at least easily emulate them.

yeah, at this point, I'll just grab a Steam Deck OLED and wait until Switch 2 emulation becomes viable (which, considering it's just a beefier Switch, should not take long, despite Nintendon't's best efforts). I was cautiously optimistic at first, but that reveal trailer combined with their actions as of late deflated me something fierce

Aside from the new connections for those soycons so they you can no longer use the last generation ones, therefore you MUST buy the new ones, where's the "upgrade"?
It still has massive bezels and the processor likely still sucks, there's likely still no internal recording either.

Yeah it's not like it's the PS Vita that had a bunch of features that made porting the games to regular controls for PS TV an extra hassle (So Sony never did and half the Vita library doesn't work on it). Most of the games have bog standard control schemes with maybe a little wiggling and gyro aim added which the Switch 2 can certainly pull off.

Yeah, as I said on the Xbox thread, I am considering a PC or a Switch 2 as neither MS or Sony are giving any tangible reason to invest in them anymore.

But I think it's a bit more clear how Nintendo sees the console. It's not a completely new console and they're not going to pretend it is. They're treating it as a +0.5 gen where only a percentage of current Switch owners will upgrade.
