That's actually correct.

The Japanese devs did not understand what a bounty hunter is. They actually believed Samus being a bounty hunter meant she was a mother figure with a heart of gold.

That is one of the biggest reasons citing the Japanese devs about their intentions regarding Metroid is hilariously stupid.

Proof:

It's in that Youtube video.

Are you guys just being paranoid because of the [current state] of "social awareness" or is there any actual basis in this?
Years of goyslop products have taught me well... I did hear unsettling rumors about a blue-hair or two being in charge of the story writing for a time, which is what makes me paranoid. Ultimately that's the worst I've "heard".

Hey at least, it has more RAM than the Series S, but still coming up short from the Steam Deck.

Still wondering what was doing through MS' heads when it comes to the S.

Seriously though, studios that did get the spec sheet from Nintendo are treating it as the new special needs kids that's replacing the Xbox One. AI upscaling is additional overhead that could be used elsewhere.
Nintendo could have fucked everyone over and cheaped out with 8 GB. They went with 12 GB which is a nice middle finger to MSbox. I don't know what overhead you're talking about, DLSS frame gen increasing VRAM usage? It's not going to be significant compared to having an additional 2 gigabytes over the Xbox Series S, which bodes well for porting games to it. The existence of the best-selling Xbox Series Albatross may even help the Switch 2, since many developers have already been forced to optimize for 10 GB.

CPU/GPU will be slower, especially in handheld mode, but devs can probably work with it. For all we know Nintendo won't even use a 1080p screen, and will have games typically running at 720p30 (which is sometimes already better than the original Switch) but upscaled to reach as high as 4K60 on TVs. They could also use a 1600x900 screen instead of 720p or 1080p.

(My interest is purely academic. I would only pirate and emulate Switch games. Maybe on a Steam Deck 2?)

At this point are any of you on board for Super Switch 360 Noscope?

I own hundreds of Switch physicals and am on the fence of either a) keep going with a new console or b) treat it as an offramp.

On the one hand it won't benefit from ports from Wii U / Vita / PS4, and we're in a very new decade with the most retarded people possible making brand new games especially outside Japan but even in.

On the other, cartridges.

Does the Switch 2 have a deck? Genuine question, i have no idea.
Are the chances slim that the Switch 2 will be dockless?
That's literally the biggest selling point, one that others fuck up. Almost half of switch owners do 90% handheld and 10% console and almost half do 10% handheld and 90% console, but most take advantage of both modes otherwise they just get a Switch Lite. If nobody wanted a hybrid the original model would've been discontinued from lack of sales when the Lite came out and the OLED version would've been dead

I get it, I hate watching videos with a passion, but it was the most convenient source I had at the time.

I mainly like citing that bit of trivia to prove that Japanese devs aren't any better than Western devs, just stupid in different ways.

Because the switch is a hybrid console that can be played either in handheld mode or connected to a tv, which may be 4k
Upscaling from 720p, what a mess... Then again, Nintendo loves to cut corners.

I don't know what overhead you're talking about, DLSS frame gen increasing VRAM usage?
DLSS has a frame cost that is more than running at the raw true resolution, but less than running at the upscaled resolution. Same with frame gen but its a heavier impact. They shouldn't even be using frame gen unless its to go from 60 to 120, frame gen falls apart below 60fps, 60fps is even pushing it. Frame gen was made for 100+ fps to close the gap on high refresh rate monitors, but devs are abusing it.

I know I got called dumb for asking if the Switch 2 has a dock, but has it leaked yet and will the Switch 1 dock be compatible do we know?
Does the dock have extra power in it? I've no idea how it works.

The only things we know for absolute, 100% confirmed-by-Nintendo certain are:
  • It’s a hybrid system like the Switch (so there’s no reason it wouldn’t have a dock)
  • It’s fully backwards compatible with Switch 1 games
  • It still uses NSO, not a new online service
We also “know” for 99% certain, “technically not confirmed but still leaked by multiple sources through matching photos and patents”:
  • Power is around Xbox Series S, a bit weaker overall but more RAM (I forget the exact SOC it’s supposedly using)
  • System, dock, and joycon designs, including magnetic joycon rails and a new C button on the right joycon
  • Switch 2 (and possibly 1) games can be upscaled with a specialized DLSS
  • It’s called the Nintendo Switch 2
And then you get to less common but still floating around rumors like “the dock will have additional processing power” and “the system can optionally connect to the dock wirelessly like a Wii U GamePad for two-screen gameplay (and the C button stands for Cast to TV)”.

I think it's thinner so the original dock and third party docks should work, unless Nintendo completely changes how the Switch 2 communicates with Type-C docks - which seems unlikely.

I wonder if the dock is BC? Seems strange Nintendo only confirm S1 games are.
If they can have a cast between switches, and make a popular social game, that would be cool. Like drop-in/drop-out gaming with mates

12gb (6x2) RAM and 256gb storage.

Switch 1 games being upscaled via DLSS seems unlikely. The only first party Nintendo games with motion vectors needed for DLSS are the Xenoblade games since they use TAA (and TAAU for 3), no other first party title has them as far as I'm aware. Unreal engine titles or games already using TAA would have a better chance of getting patches to allow it however.

If not by DLSS, then I hope we at least get actual performance improvements like with Yuzu/Ryujinx (🌈, I know).
