Woke people are tolerant only when camera 's are rolling. Nothing they do is genuine, everything is a performance.
 
This janny cares more about other Discord servers not being up to his standards of being a huge hugbox safespace for other troons and not Nintendo shutting down Ryujinx.

Because Nintendo would have no way of knowing if you bought those game originally most likely. As Wii/U Accounts are seperate from the Switch.

But they can. At the drop of a hat. And your old Nintendo games are still yours, just play them on the thing you bought them on. They don’t go away.

That’s because they are services that require PC to run. Until a little while ago Steam did not have their own console. And I’m betting they’d shut you out if they could.

It wouldn’t be hard. Just ask you to enter in your Wii U Account Info when you make a Switch Account. And transfer the info. If you needed to shut the Wii U ones down, give us all a date by which we had to do it.

Even now the Accounts are still usable, you just can’t do anything cause the Shop etc is down.

They could absolutely have done a 1 way transfer like they did between the Wii and U i feel.

Oh, I'll wait for them to do that then. (Let me look at my watch, ok, a few minutes have passed let me check. Nope still compatible with all PCs including other company's handhelds. I'm sure you'll be proved right any day now. I mean Steam has only been working on standard PC hardware since 2003. Any day now you'll be proven right. I have faith.)

I said as much. But now they’ve got the system in place I am not entirely sure it would be easy to fix retroactively even if they calculated that it would benefit them.

That was my point. Because it is a PC based service first and foremost they can’t close it off, even if they wanted to.

I honestly don’t know why they didn’t allow you to keep your Account.

As it is I expect after Switch 2 they’ll do the same thing again and the Account Systems will be completely new again.

The Wii and Wii U account systems didn't even use the same currency. They only similarity they had was that you could link them so the Wii U shop could see your purchases from the Wii Shop

Wii didn't have an account it was per console.

Wii U had Nintendo Network ID which was also bolted onto 3DS -- for both you couldn't (easily) recover your games if you lost the system or it broke.

Switch has a real account system. It has some quirks and I still prefer physical but it's a lot better than what was on offer before.
 
Why are you guys arguing this? Nintendo doesn't want you playing their old games on Switch unless you use their shitty paid online service and thus they don't give you the option to do it. Its that simple.
