I was almost excited when I saw the Mario and Luigi style in 3D and then the entire trailer looked like the typical boring “ 2D translated into 3D” feel.
And it’s a sequel not a remake… it should look cooler? I remember Mario and Luigi had such a kickass look to it— I always liked it much more than the Paper Mario series.

The Zelda game had the excitability of a real Chess 3D game
i WANT to play as Zelda but not in the overview SNES fashion. It’s just screams simple-yet-absurdly-time-consuming to me.

So we got a Peach game where you mash one button to play and a Zelda game where it’s super simple with boring time consuming gimmicks . Yay, progression for us girls!! woooo I fucking love feminism

It's more along the lines of just placing shit so that you can find an workaround for literally everything. Plus, you'll probably be going through the menu every 3 minutes or so

I'm keeping an eye on it as well, but so far they seem to be ADDING things to it rather than outright remove stuff. Website says they are adding secret characters in the roster that previously were not playable. Website even says which ROM version they are using, and some people so far have noticed the rom versions are the patched ones (meaning no wall infinites)

Only thing being removed is the white flashes that were in the originals, but even that is a setting where you can turn it on or off. Oh, and Norimaru from MSHvSF, but that's for obvious reasons.

Hopefully that remains the case. It’s very tempting to spend money on a physical copy, especially one that will be valuable ten years from now, but it’s very much a wait and see scenario.

As for a Norimaru, meh not interested in Marvel vs Street Fighter anyway.

I liked Top 100 well enough, but it really depends on how much nostalgia you have for the old minigames while Superstars, despite leaning more heavily into nostalgia, is good on its own merits. It’s what I would recommend to someone who’s never played a Mario Party (that or 3).

Superstars has been great for introducing people to the game. And more often than not, it segues directly into launching the N64 channel and playing one of the older games.

No they are not making these games to "appease the Kotaku crowd" and you should not assign that sort of power to people that do not posess it.

Super Princess Peach came out 20 years ago. Metroid came out 40 years ago. Fire Emblem has been crapping out strong female whatevers for decades. Josh wants to hot glue the Animal Crossing dog and she has been around for over a decade.

Set Nintendo aside and Valis has been smashing shit up since the 80s and that is just one of many third party female whatevers.

I see your general point, but this effort is not to appease. People make the games they want. And the best ones are usually the best because the developers made the game they wanted.
