Was it really just that optimized for the wii u, or was there some other issue?
To add on to that, the game heavily pushed online functionality, it was like an MMOlite experience, but then the Switch de-emphasized online in a way where I think it would have been hard to find friends and do boss battles with the shit Switch chat app.

Nier was an Xbox 360 game, how hard can it be to make it not run like shit?
But Replicant 1.22... is not a 360 game anymore, its essentially a remake with how much got changed and overhauled. I would hope it can run on Switch without looking like ass, but probably only at 30fps. But the original game was not a technical powerhouse and it ran at 30fps on 360/ps3 at 720p with a bunch of jank graphics. The remaster/make doesn't run as well as you would expect, even on PS5. It's only 1080p on all Playstation consoles, with 1440p on the Xbox One X (and by extension Series X and S). Even on PC there are issues, and they continued the old Japanese tradition of tying the game speed to framerate, so its locked at 60fps.

It really feels like Kojima snatched up all the programmers in Japan that actually know how to optimize a game.

I just hope that Nintendo stops fucking us around and finally gives us Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD. I hope we also get some DLC for Mario Wonder, I normally don't care for such things but I'd totally be down with buying a DLC that adds a bunch of new levels/playable characters.

What is the likelyhood the new Doom makes it to Switch given that the first two miraculously did?

I feel it is much too late for this. Nintendo typically announces DLC before launch or shortly after, not counting the weird reuse of MK Tour content. It has been half a year with no word. At this point a sequel is likely in development for Switch 2, if not a 3D Mario.

can't even get that hype since Nintendo has revealed themselves to be pozzed, if only slightly less than the rest of them. God, I hate Clown World
I'm suppressing it but I kinda feel the same way...

We'll see how far they go with this shit, the only saving grace is this is currently pretty much limited to NoA, but it's obviously only a matter of time.

Rare Replay
That's the only way I see Conker getting a release on Switch, so I'm hoping for it just for that alone.

Wind Waker remake
That would be an awesome swansong for Switch.

Kirby RPG
I'd love Nintendo to give more of their franchises the RPG treatment. Donkey Kong and Star Fox would be cool too.

We have the other 3 main ones: Tennis, Golf and Soccer. Baseball is the only one left beyond Basketball, which was always a weird spin-off relegated to DS, or a collection like Sports Mix.
I forgot that it’s been 3 years since Mario Golf.

Sluggers was done by Namco. Namco announced that they were working on some Nintendo projects. That would be a funny outcome for that.

Doom Dark Ages is a mid 2025 release. It could be a switch 2 launch title, but it definitely won’t be on switch.

I guess I must've forgot, but NSO doesn't allow for in-app control remapping... I was trying to play Mega Man V and it's unplayable, Y needs to be shoot, B for jump.

If Switch 2 carries over NSO as expected it needs major updates.

I feel like we would have got this on Mario Day if it was coming. Sorry dude, they're surely on to Wonder 2 or Maker 3 on Switch 2.

Throwing some more shit out there-

Fantasian (Apple Arcade exclusive made by original Final Fantasy creator) had a steam listing discovered and NtH says that its multiplat release is getting revealed tomorrow. That has to be at, at least, the Japanese Direct, right? Word of mouth is that the game was pretty good but dying on the vine in the 2024 version of Apple Arcade.
Pyoro, who has been unusually quiet about this direct (he usually gives most of the games, even first party ones, but in the form of homosexual hints and other attention baiting) and now says that it is going to be light on first party stuff. Seems to hint that Mario Party is on the way.

There's a possibility he's hinting at a new Mario and Sonic game. It's been a while since the last one, so maybe they've been working behind the scenes for Summer 2024?

3D Mario Maker would be badass, but I wonder how viable it would be. Even if they just limited it to SM64 it'd probably be a huge task, but it's the only way to really differentiate a 3rd entry significantly.

I wish they'd do real damn Mario & Sonic crossover instead of just sports.

Well, if thats the way they go it would probably be the 3D team doing it, and thus wouldn't fit the timeline unless you x out the supposed 3D Mario title we are going to get with Switch 2's launch. And I don't want to live in that world.

Let's see, what Nintendo is going to announce this year. I don't have high hopes.
And it's a new Mario&Luigi game. That's neat and a good start.
