Doesn't seem to have any Switch-related performance problems, although the cat does accidentally teleport from time to time. The protagonist doesn't have a clear gender and there are no white people in the game. Overall, 10/10.

We also moved away from ROM chips being directly mapped into the memory map. Now it's flash memory being automatically mounted like any average SD card.

Those only have a lifespan of 20 years if Macronix are fully honest about their specs.

I view old school carts directly mapped to memory the same way I view CRTs. It's actually a superior technology to what we have now, but it was discarded for being too expensive and cumbersome.

Note that many Switch carts have loading time because they are basically just SD cards. There will come a point where no one remembers the instantaneous feel of playing a cart directly mapped to memory on a CRT TV. You can run across the entire world in Ocarina of Time and there isn't a single loading screen or any sort of lag.

Maybe one day. flash memory speeds are getting faster all the time, and we may eventually reach a point where someone finds it's cheaper to have little to no memory in the console and have it read directly from the flash cart. Some sort of DDR memory with a reduced number of pins.
