Wait several months before you allow it to run?
Since you don’t seem to know how emulators work, I’ll spell it out. The Yuzu devs would have to do all of the following:
- Block the game from running on current versions of Yuzu
- Block the game from running on past versions of Yuzu
- Hope that no one simply changes the game’s ID so it’s identified as a different game
- Hope that no one knows how to modify this open source emulator to simply remove the restriction
- Hope that this combination of very specific tasks will convince Nintendo that Switch emulation is okay

Yes. They would have to do all that

Or they could just not openly have a public donations page for their stuff which is clearly the easier option.

Sincr they did neither they should honestly get sued and closed down solely for being real dumb.

This is your reminder to buy a 3DS, 2DS, or any flavor of the device, jailbreak that shit, and enjoy playing any and every single game Nintendo has in their NES-3DS Library
If you actually pay Nintendo, a company that is just barely short of hostile to it's userbase, then you deserve a bullet

Not for a while as WW HD was already a remaster and a port and you tend to only get one,
The 3DS and the Wii U are both excellent hardware that between them play every legacy Nintendo game without hacky controls and shit. I got my Wii U loaded up with all the good stuff, and when I'm working again I'll pickup a 3DS or 2DS XL and put hshop on it.

I'm still curious why they didn't just sue both Yuzu and Ryujinx at the same time. The only difference between the two (legally) is that Yuzu makes more money, but both have a Patreon that got more money when Zelda released.

Edit. I guess the only reason is that Yuzu locks their EA builds behind their patreon.

Watch that Nerrel video for a quick rundown. Parts of the same legislation have been used to successfully argue both sides in court. It's a fucking disaster. You're allowed to create backup copies, but don't create backup copies. Horrific grey area that will never be settled, but Jewtendo will always sue.

With copyright, it seems that the law is obscure in allowing shit while also having contradictory limitations. I'm not sure about Yuzu devs, but they should fight to set a precedence otherwise it'll remain a grey area that'll always lead to abusing the process by companies like Nintendo.

Nintendo have always been litigious. Surprised it took them this long to even try it with Yuzu, with or without legal merit. Big fan of yuzu, have it on my deck and played three houses on it. For all I know the devs might be cut from the same gay cloth as byuu (the only emulator dev I’ve heard of), but I wish them the best.

Probably the same way Dolphin got kicked off Steam. Dolphin was a source key straight copied from Nintendo to make cube games run. They didn’t take the thing and reverse make it they took the source key strsight and then like idiots eventually put their emulator on steam.

Nintendo is usually ok with you robbing their shit until you start trying to make money to do so.

If I had to bet something in Yuzu is straight up Nintendos. And there are no questions about thst. And Yuzu did something that might be viewed as trying to make money with their software.
They didn't try to make money on Steam, though, did they? Also Retroarch is still on Steam.

Dolphin's legal reasoning for including the key comes from 17 U.S.C. § 1201(f)

...a person may develop and employ technological means to circumvent a technological measure, or to circumvent protection afforded by a technological measure, in order to enable the identification and analysis under paragraph (1), or for the purpose of enabling interoperability of an independently created computer program with other programs, if such means are necessary to achieve such interoperability, to the extent that doing so does not constitute infringement under this title.

The emulator's primary purpose is to enable interoperability with Wii games on PC hardware, not to pirate them, so their lawyer says including the key is fine.

Yuzu is seemingly being sued because they link to software which can be used to extract a single piece of code from a Switch that you have to purchase to extract the key from.

Valve wasn't legally required to kick Dolphin off, they just wanted to and, since its their storefront, did. Valve might be "your friend" but they hate pirates as much as the next publisher.

I think it was just a risk mitigation and public image situation. They want to look fully compliant with the law and not bother getting tangled up with notoriously litigious Nintendo.

Deciding to put it on steam after all these years suggests they were to me.

As for retroroach it might be possible Nintendo did not know or still considered the Cube new enough to care about it.

And since you can’t get Cube games on PC you either have to rip the files from your own discs or pirate the roms. And Dolphin can’t distinguish which you did so everyone pirates. And that was a widely known fact.

Not my yuzurino!

Looks like Sakurai’s YouTube channel is coming to a close. He said a while back that it would end this year, but he’s starting to post compilations of past videos.
Are they worth going through? I saw the first like 20 and they seemed interesting enough but his rate of release went beyond my rhythm of watching and I never got back to watching them.

Because Yuzu is pay-walling the working versions of the emulator (of a current console) behind Patreon, essentially competing against Nintendo. That's the main reason why Yuzu is specifically targeted and not Ryujinx, everything else is just throwing weight into the lawsuit argument.

I've been noticing that people who use a Switch emulator can't help but constantly bringing attention to it and its existence on more mainstream websites, this also includes that one Kotaku journalist who bragged about playing Metroid Dread at better performance on an emulator within the release window period. People simply refuse to stick to that unwritten golden rule of staying low profile so the corporations would look the other way, as it's all about virtue-signaling and online clout these days. The previous case of Dolphin on Steam was similarly stupid by essentially bringing unwanted attention on the emulation scene as well.

Should have gatekeep the loud retards harder I guess.

snoy and fagtendie have already been defeated mukitole times. the semitic courts don't care.

If you don't care about the 3D, the 2DSXL is excellent. Plus the best 3D game was that hidden object game from the DSi with the rabbit.

Pirates and pot heads, man. Both groups have become (even more) annoying over the last decade. "Cavalier" is the word I think I want.
