Pretty solid leaks have the next direct on the 15th. Seems a logical date to me.

Because those people are autistic faggots.
I don't think the Switch 2 is coming until next year. This year will be the swansong.
The above is NOT a leak, just my speculation because I'm not an autistic faggot about the Switch.
The Switch really has nothing in the pipeline beyond the summer, nor anything big we know to be in the works besides Metroid Prime 4, and that's probably been pushed back to the next console to give it a killer app. The Switch is almost not certainly getting another Zelda or Mario at this point, nor a new Smash or its own Mario Kart. All those are next gen releases for sure to push the next system. Seven years is already pretty long in the tooth for a Nintendo console. The only reason the Switch launched in March was because they needed to push it out ASAP to move on from the Wii U and couldn't afford to wait. The SNES, Wii, and Wii U launched in November, while the Gamecube and N64 launched in September (in North America, in the case of the N64). Only the NES launched at a weird date, and that was in July. Nintendo pushes for late launches to ensure a strong holiday season.I think so too. They might try to replicate the Switch's exact plan and launch in March again.
Ehh, it might get a Pokemon. They teased a Black/White remake yesterday, probably coming this fall.Ehh, it might get a Pokemon.
oh good, my favorite generation is now getting raped. They teased a Black/White remake yesterday, probably coming this fall.
They are games for 8 year olds.oh good, my favorite generation is now getting raped.
Because it wasn't enough they turned Liligant into a lankey abomination or made Braviary a faggot in Legends: Arceus
Just because we don't know of anything doesn't mean it's not being worked on, a Nintendo Direct should happen soon. As for Metroid Prime 4, it will likely be cross-generational.The Switch really has nothing in the pipeline beyond the summer, nor anything big we know to be in the works besides Metroid Prime 4, and that's probably been pushed back to the next console to give it a killer app.
Those specifically may not be getting releases, but there could be Zelda/Mario spinoffs/remasters/remakes, but I agree there's no more mainline titles for those coming. The Switch is almost not certainly getting another Zelda or Mario at this point, nor a new Smash or its own Mario Kart. All those are next gen releases for sure to push the next system.
I'm not saying it is guaranteed but if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Switch is still getting games and selling okay, I could see them doing it. If they do not announce Switch 2 in the next ND then I'm pretty sure it's definitely coming next year.Seven years is already pretty long in the tooth for a Nintendo console. If anything big was coming, we'd already know about it, either from Nintendo themselves or from leaks. The last Direct had no big or major titles, other than Mario spinoff Super Mario Wonder, and hardly anything slated to come this year past the first three months. In fact, I think the only game they revealed coming after the Spring was that Luigi's Mansion remake, which is a summer release.Just because we don't know of anything doesn't mean it's not being worked on, a Nintendo Direct should happen soon. As for Metroid Prime 4, it will likely be cross-generational.
I mean, that's functionally what they did with the Switch. As you said, if it ain't broke, why fix it. There's no need to have over a year to lead in. Rumors that its coming having been circulating for over a year at this point anyway. I'm sure there are already people looking for an announcement to come soon. In this day and age of fast communication, there's really no need for a large lead in time to release.Looking back, they announced a Wii successor on April 25, 2011 and it released November 18, 2012. That's over a year from official announcement to release. I don't see them announcing it in the summer, then releasing it in fall, it's too rushed, even if there's precedent for a similar announcement-to-launch timeframes.
You're missing important details regarding the Switch's release. Nintendo announced that they were working on a new console in March 17, 2015, but revealed nothing about it. In fact, the Switch was still known by its codename, NX, at the time. It was only in April 2016 that they announced that they were aiming for a March 2017 release, but they still didn't reveal the console or show off the hardware, or even give it an official name. The Switch's famous trailer, and with it the first reveal of its name and appearance, wasn't released till October of 2016, only five months prior to its release. Nintendo didn't reveal any technical details about the console or any feature details until January 13, 2017 press event, less than three months prior to its actual release date.Looking at the Switch itself, it was announced on March 17, 2015 and released March 3, 2017. So in both casees--the most successful console at the time (Wii) and their least successful ever (Wii U)--they announced and discussed a successor much earlier than what you're suggesting. These are also their most recent consoles.
Well, it seems like Famitsu's total hardware count may have been a bit short, because according to data from Nintendo's own financial report, Japan's total hardware count for the Nintendo Switch is now 33,340,000, making it the best-selling console of all time in the region.
We will know about it via Nintendo Direct, it's almost certain there will be significant announcements for Switch. If anything big was coming, we'd already know about it, either from Nintendo themselves or from leaks.
Did you just downplay Wonder as a spinoff? The last ND was a bit light but it was better than you're giving it credit for. I expect this year will be better too, a swansong type of year. The last Direct had no big or major titles, other than Mario spinoff Super Mario Wonder, and hardly anything slated to come this year past the first three months.
Which is why people expect a ND soon.In fact, I think the only game they revealed coming after the Spring was that Luigi's Mansion remake, which is a summer release.
No...? I just told you the opposite of that.I mean, that's functionally what they did with the Switch.
Nintendo disagreed with Wii U & Switch. There's no need to have over a year to lead in.
Things haven't changed drastically since the lead-in to Switch. In this day and age of fast communication, there's really no need for a large lead in time to release.
According to Wikipedia they described it as "a brand new concept". Vague, but it's not "nothing".Nintendo announced that they were working on a new console in March 17, 2015, but revealed nothing about it.
And we'll probably get such a trailer at some point. First they will likely announce it, though it's possible they just randomly drop a trailer for a grand reveal, sure. The Switch's famous trailer, and with it the first reveal of its name and appearance, wasn't released till October of 2016, only five months prior to its release.
Work on the successor is always started early, this is nothing new. Who knows when it actually releases, that's the question. It's not guaranteed this year.Right now, we know Nintendo is working on the Switch 2 and is already showing off the target hardware to third parties.
No reason to assume that it's this year aside from rumors, which have been very, very off with both Switch revisions/successors & its software for like half a decade at this point. Stop being so sure these are accurate leaks & reports, or assuming they won't change even if they are.assuming its releasing in November
That's basically nothing my man. It told us nothing, thus it was nothing, other than the fact that the NX existed.According to Wikipedia they described it as "a brand new concept". Vague, but it's not "nothing".
This isn't just "work" on a successor. Work on a successor started right after the Switch itself was released, more than likely. They've finalized the hardware and are actively selling it to third parties and showing off target specs. SDKs are already out in the wild. Its coming soon. They could release it early next year, but that simply doesn't fit in with Nintendo's own history regarding when they release their consoles, the Switch situation notwithstanding. Its definitely not two full years away.Work on the successor is always started early, this is nothing new. Who knows when it actually releases, that's the question. It's not guaranteed this year.
The rumors and leaks are getting more consistent, more numerous, and are largely saying the same things. Where there is smoke, there's fire, and right now the room is suffocating. When it was just an occasional rumor being dropped here and there, and they were saying wildly different things or were extremely vague, you may have had a point. At this point, reports are consistent, detailed, and drawing attention from mainstream news sources and industry analysts. They can't simply be dismissed. No reason to assume that it's this year aside from rumors, which have been very, very off with both Switch revisions/successors & its software for like half a decade at this point.
It literally wasn't nothing but ok.That's basically nothing my man.
Source?Its coming soon.
We've been hearing that forever. I think there's a good chance this year it could finally be true, but let's not pretend like this isn't the same shit we've been hearing forever. As recent as ToTK people expected a revision or successor to ship with it, even I thought it was likely, but nope. Its definitely not two full years away.
Many reputable sources like WSJ and various leakers said it was coming. Nothing ever did. When it was just an occasional rumor being dropped here and there, and they were saying wildly different things or were extremely vague, you may have had a point.
They can be. You can't say "new console coming soon" for half a decade and not be dismissed. We'll just have to wait, simple as that. They can't simply be dismissed
I don’t see why not. The real question is whether it’ll include the extremely rare Japan-only e-Reader levels. That new Princess Peach game looks pretty fun. I think I'll get that. Mario vs DK is also a real nice revision, but I do not know if all of the original levels are included.
My sale depends entirely on this feature. Nintendo have a habit of missing me a bunch over little stuff like this.Japan-only e-Reader levels.
There might be hope. Super Mario Advanced 4 SM3 had all it's e-Reader stages added to the main game automatically last time they re-released that game, so the e-Reader hasn't COMPLETELY been forgotten. My sale depends entirely on this feature. Nintendo have a habit of missing me a bunch over little stuff like this.
That reminds me, I still need to walk down those stairs and do the final boss battle.Meanwhile, I’m still counting the days as to when the Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door port is coming to the Nintendo Switch.
Any word on if it's gonna be another ILCA joint? They teased a Black/White remake yesterday, probably coming this fall.
I could see them doing Metroid Prime 2 this year then announce the Trilogy collection for Switch 2.People were speculating the 6th right? Guess that didn't happen.
